Skrice Studios has published the February Community Update for their blockchain base builder Heroes of Mavia, in which they reveal impressive stats achieved since the game’s launch while teasing upcoming major new features that are set to soon be ready for release.
According to the development roadmap revealed in the latest community update, the studio will be announcing the Layer 2 chain that they would like to use by the end of this month. Picking the right network to integrate is an important one for the team, as the L2 will serve to power the entirety of the game’s on-chain economy, meaning that all transactions on the upcoming Ruby Marketplace will be made on this chain. As a result, the developers find it crucial for the L2 to have low gas and be accessible to onboarding a Web2 audience while having “the infrastructure established to be able to support millions of transactions in-game.”
With that said, the team has revealed that the Ruby Marketplace is scheduled to launch at some point in late March or early April and is set to serve as the “key to converting Web2 players into Web3 enthusiasts.” The team has stated that the marketplace is almost completely ready for launch and that it is now in need of an L2 integration in order for it to be properly ready to go live.
In the second quarter of this year, players can look forward to in-game Ruby & Mavia tournaments, the guild-focused Alliance Wars mode and the introduction of in-game bonuses for $MAVIA holders, with info on these bonuses to be given in the future. Alliance Wars will allow Alliances to fight for Gold, Oil and RUBY, and potentially on-chain items, while tournaments will allow solo players and group to compete for prize pools featuring RUBY and $MAVIA.
Aside from these milestones, the developers will continue to fix issues and improve the game while working on adding new characters, guild management and Land NFTs, introducing renting in the process. Specific timeframes for these additions were not given in the latest update post.
Season 5 of soft-staking Land NFTs will begin on March 2nd and end on June 2nd. By staking Land NFTs, stakers have an opportunity of getting airdropped NFTs once soft-staking ends. Staking Common Land is rewarded with a free “Time Statue” NFT, while a Rare Land gets you that NFT plus a rare bonus NFT that is kept as a surprise. Last but not least, Legendary Land stakers get all the previously mentioned rewards, plus a surprise NFT of Legendary rarity.
It took Heroes of Mavia less than a week to achieve more than 1 million downloads on mobile app stores, which is an outstanding feat for a new Web3 mobile title.
