Skrice Studios has successfully launched blockchain strategy game Heroes of Mavia globally on Android and iOS via the Play Store and App Store as a free-to-play title.
The official global release took place on January 31st, opening the game up to the masses to download and easily jump in and play as a guest or create an account using a social sign-in option, with Web3Auth serving as the Web3 authentication partner. In just 12 hours, the Web3 title achieved more than 100k+ downloads.
By playing now, you can start enjoying base building gameplay reminiscent of popular mobile hits such as Clash of Clans. There are 3 currencies in the game: Gold, Oil, and Sapphire. The first two are resources used for building and upgrading various structures, and may be needed for recruiting certain units, while Sapphire is a premium currency that lets you speed up the construction and upgrade processes and is available as an in-app purchase, just like in other traditional mobile games.
Players can currently spend time turning their base into a fortress using a variety of different defenses such as turrets, walls, anti-air missiles, flame towers, and more. You will need these defenses, because once your shield is down, other players will be able to raid you and steal your resources at any time, regardless of whether you’re playing the game or not. At the time of writing, everyone is given a starting Shield, but getting another one afterwards does not seem to be available for now as it is instead listed as one of the contents that is coming soon. Buying Oil and Gold is also not yet available, meaning that players can currently rely on collecting those resources themselves using Oil Rigs and Gold Collectors.
Another way of earning more resources is by completing PvE quests called Missions. Players progress linearly through these Missions that get more and more difficult the further you progress. A total of 60 Missions seem to be available at the time of writing, serving as a great way to get more resources in order to upgrade your buildings, such as storages for Gold and Oil in order to have higher capacities for holding a larger quantity of these resources.
Next to Missions, you can also jump into Ranked Matches in which you raid other player’s bases for a chance at attaining resources as well as Trophies to rank higher on a future League leaderboard. Playing Ranked though costs Gold and reduces your Shield time. If you’d like to get a speed boost in creating buildings, then you may want to hop into a player-created Alliance, which is an in-game guild that anyone can create and through which you can get Shields and support from other members, including donation of units.
New features are planned to be gradually added to the game over time, one of the first being a Land rental system set to launch a month after this official release. Later this year, the team is looking to introduce wager matches, but anyone interested in the governance $MAVIA token can look forward to it launching next week on various exchanges on February 6th. Some of the exchanges that have been announced so far include Bybit, KuCoin, and Gate.io.
