The GUNZ team has released its monthly ecosystem update for July 2025, and it marks one of the most active and defining months for both Off The Grid (OTG) and the broader GUNZ platform. From its Steam release to record-setting player activity, the entire platform has moved forward at full speed.

Steam Launch Brings Off The Grid to PC Gamers

On July 26th, Off The Grid officially launched on Steam, bringing the cyberpunk battle royale to the world's largest PC gaming platform. Within days of release, the title saw a spike in player numbers and high engagement rates. The successful launch not only opened the door to a broader PC audience but also marked a key milestone in GUNZ's cross-platform plans.

Steam users can now experience the full multiplayer features of OTG, including cyberlimb looting, squad-based gameplay, and jetpack-fueled vertical combat. As players explore Teardrop Island and compete in intense PvP matches, the game's growing momentum continues to feed into the trading and item economy within the GUNZ network.

GUN Expands to Solana With Full DeFi Integration

One of the biggest moves last month was the GUNZ platform's multichain expansion. In July, the $GUN token successfully bridged to Solana through an official integration. This gives access to a wider DeFi market, allowing $GUN to be used across Solana-native wallets and protocols.

Wallets like Phantom and Solflare now support GUN, while platforms such as Kamino, Orca, and Jupiter have opened liquidity vaults and pools. On Kamino, a 15 million $GUN liquidity rewards campaign is already live, offering users nearly $400,000 in token incentives across three months. Orca and BlackholeDEX have also launched liquidity options and staking pools, reinforcing GUN's utility beyond Avalanche.

The warm reception on Solana has been clear. One of the most traded cosmetic items in July was the Solana Content Pack, showing player excitement around this expansion.

OpenSea Partnership Brings Marketplace Volume Surge

The GUNZ team has also launched Phase 1 of its OpenSea rollout, bringing Off The Grid assets to decentralized trading. In the first 24 hours, the marketplace recorded $1 million worth of GUN token volume, with a single Tacoma Gun selling for 55,000 GUN.

The official GUNZ OpenSea storefront is now live, giving players a place to list, trade, and collect their in-game assets. Validator NFTs are also expected to be listed soon as part of the progressive shift to an open economy. Once live, all items will be freely tradable by any player, across multiple networks.

GUNZ Ecosystem Monthly Report: New transaction volume metrics

All-Time High Transaction Volumes in July

The GUNZ network hit an all-time high in daily transaction volume last month, reaching over 3 million transactions in a single day. This record was set despite a slight dip in the number of monthly GUNZ transactions, which dropped by 8.4% compared to June.

According to data shared in the report, marketplace volume more than doubled from June's 12.9 million GUN to 27.8 million GUN in July. The number of marketplace listings also rose from 224,559 to 252,687. Hex decoding activity jumped by 122.86%, hitting 920,910 decoded items.

VASP License Nears Completion, Full Mainnet Rollout Coming

One of the biggest updates revealed in the July report is that Gunzilla's Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license is now in its final stages. This license (issued by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority) will allow the team to support legal fiat-to-crypto payments inside Off The Grid.

According to analysts, with this license, players will soon get to buy $GUN or in-game items using credit cards, PayPal, and other fiat options. It also enables the final transfer of assets from testnet to the GUNZ mainnet, marking full activation of OTG's blockchain systems.

The license will also ensure Gunzilla is fully aligned with current Cayman Islands regulations, which took effect in April 2025. These rules require platforms involved in token trading, asset custody, or issuance to be officially licensed. Once approved, the GUNZ ecosystem will operate within a fully compliant legal framework, supporting large-scale web3 onboarding.

OTG Companion App Reaches 500K Users

The Off The Grid Companion App also crossed over 500,000 unique users in July. The app is designed to improve in-game comms, squad coordination, and ecosystem access. It plays a key role in supporting OTG's player base, helping users stay connected, check inventories, and manage squad chats while on the go.

August Updates and What's Coming Next

August is already shaping up to bring more content to players. There are a few key updates set to roll out in the early part of the month:

A brand new Kill-to-Upgrade game mode is launching, offering fast combat progression based on eliminations.

The game will receive an updated HUD, lobby, and social features, creating a smoother experience for squad and solo play.

A new Cyberlimb Drop is set to go live, though the GUNZ team hasn't yet revealed what the new item will be.

Loadout drones are also being upgraded, giving players even more firepower and utility during intense firefights.

Looking ahead, the team has confirmed that new features in the making include narrative-driven in-game missions, a Solo Battle Royale mode, and ranked ladders for both Trio and Solo BR formats.

What Is Off The Grid?

Off The Grid is a near-future cyberpunk shooter from visionary director Neill Blomkamp. Set on Teardrop Island, players take part in a deadly televised battle royale where gear, limbs, and cyberware can be looted and traded. The game focuses on fast jetpack movement and deep customization using a modular limb-swapping system. All gear found in-game can be traded through GUNZ's marketplace, including on OpenSea.

A full 60-hour story campaign is planned for later this year, but PvP gameplay is live now. Players can jump into ranked and unranked matches to earn loot, climb leaderboards, and swap items through the blockchain.

With a strong July behind them, it looks like Off The Grid and the wider GUNZ platform are showing no signs of slowing down. The game's Steam launch, its growing presence on Solana and OpenSea, and new DeFi options have all helped drive engagement. The VASP license now sits in its final approval stage, opening the door for full mainnet features. More updates are on the way, including fresh game modes and broader access to item trading.
