The GUNZ ecosystem has begun migrating European PC players onto Mainnet this week, marking a major shift for web3 gaming in the EU. This rollout follows the August announcement that the GUN token is now officially compliant with the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR), making it the first gaming-focused digital asset approved under the new EU law.

Mainnet Migration Starts with EU PC Users

Based on GUNZ's August ecosystem report shared on Wednesday, the Mainnet migration for EU players is now officially underway. The process starts with PC users and will extend to other platforms later, pending console approvals.

While this marks the public rollout of Mainnet migration for the EU region, it's not the first time players have moved onto the network. Earlier in the year, GUNZ began unlocking access in waves, starting with OTG Pro Pass holders and the most active players. This approach allowed the team to test features and gather feedback before expanding to a broader audience.

This latest phase, however, is the first time the migration is being done under the finalized MiCAR framework, with full legal compliance in place for the European market. It also positions GUNZ as a model for how AAA web3 games can work within legal systems.

Before this transition, the network had already seen impressive growth. GUNZ reported over 7.6 million NFTs minted, 62,498 unique holders, and a trading volume of 11.1 million GUN tokens on OpenSea. On the testnet side, the chain recorded over 870 million transactions and maintained more than 2.25 million daily transactions across 18.7 million wallets.

$GUN Token: MiCAR Compliance Secured

In late August, Gunzilla Games confirmed that the GUN token had become MiCAR-compliant, making it the first digital asset focused on gaming to be approved under the EU's new crypto law. The compliance process was supported by global law firm Dentons and gives the token official utility token status across all EU member states.

With this change, $GUN now has what's called "passporting rights," allowing it to be legally used and traded across Europe without needing separate licenses in each country. According to Gunzilla, the token's new status removes legal uncertainty, supports in-game use, and unlocks broader accessibility.

This regulatory clarity also makes it easier for institutions and partners to get involved, removing long-standing legal hurdles that have limited wider adoption of crypto gaming assets in regulated markets.

What the Mainnet Move Unlocks

According to the team, the migration marks more than just a tech shift. It brings several benefits to the table for the ecosystem:

First, $GUN tokens can now be listed on regulated EU exchanges, opening doors to wider adoption across Europe. Next to that, more institutional partnerships can now be formed safely. And for players, it means all in-game activity tied to GUN can happen in a way that is legally protected under EU law.

The GUNZ team also made clear that console players are next in line. While PC users are the first to move onto the Mainnet, console integration is already in the works, with submissions pending for platform approvals.

Off The Grid Update: New Content, Game Modes, and Events

At the center of the GUNZ ecosystem is Off The Grid (OTG), a cyberpunk battle royale and PvP shooter set on Teardrop Island. Since its launch, the game has rolled out several content patches that tie directly into the onchain economy.

In August, OTG introduced a major patch featuring new gameplay features like Loadout Ladder mode. This mode, also known as Gun Game, lets players progress through a chain of weapons by scoring kills. The first to get a kill with the final loadout wins.

New cyberlimbs were also added, including Mirror Breakers. This one lets players deploy decoys to confuse enemies, trigger traps, and gain a strategic edge in fights. A wall jump mechanic was introduced too, letting players gain enough height and activate their jetpacks from the ground.

The in-game lobby was redesigned as well. Now located on the Dreadnaught Carrier, it acts as a launch studio for customizing characters and prepping for matches. This new hub includes up-to-date gear and Cyberlimbs, offering players a fresh way to get ready before dropping onto the island.

$GUN Ecosystem Metrics Ahead of Migration

Just before the EU PC migration began, GUNZ released updated onchain stats. These numbers show how much growth the ecosystem has seen:

Over 7.6 million NFTs have already been minted, with more coming. The number of unique holders has climbed to more than 62,000, showing strong wallet diversity. On OpenSea, $GUN trading volume now stands above 11 million tokens.

On the testnet, the GUNZ chain has seen over 872 million total transactions. More than 18.7 million wallets have been created, and daily transaction volume has reached 2.25 million.

New Rewards and Campaigns for $GUN

Along with the tech rollouts, August also brought fresh reward programs to GUN holders. These include campaigns with platforms like Kamino, Blackhole, and Galxe, plus the Avalanche Battle Pass Season 2.

With these rewards running alongside the migration, players and token holders are getting more ways to interact with the ecosystem while the infrastructure grows.

What's Next for GUNZ and Off The Grid

While the EU PC migration is now live, the GUNZ team says more updates are coming. Console migration is in progress, though the exact timeline depends on approvals from platform holders. Submissions are already in motion.

Also on the roadmap is the launch of Galxe Starboard, a campaign hub offering rewards for those who promote and engage with the GUNZ ecosystem. A new round of OpenSea activity is planned as well, with "Wave 4+" being teased as the biggest one yet.

Meanwhile, Off The Grid continues to roll out live events. A new 24-hour limited mode called Blast and Slash goes live this Friday at 2 PM CET. In this event, players can only use shotguns and select Cyberlimbs like Ripper, Leapers, Roadrunners, Ghost, and Hookshot. The event aims to shake up gameplay by limiting tools and forcing tight, chaotic combat.

With these changes, OTG continues to tie its in-game action directly to the blockchain-backed GUN economy. Every patch and event feeds back into the ecosystem, pushing both the gameplay and the token use case forward under MiCAR's legal framework.
