Grease Monkey Games, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands and developer of Torque Drift 2, has secured a partnership with one of the most recognizable aftermarket wheel brands, Konig Wheels, to bring the first interoperable wheel NFTs to not only the previously mentioned racing game, but to other titles Torque Motorsport gaming franchise as well.

These Konig-licensed wheel NFTs are set to come out in the second half of this year for Torque Drift 2, an official on-chain title for Formula DRIFT. They will be interoperable with other mobile games made by Grease Monkey Games in the Torque Motorsport franchise, which include Torque Drift and Torque Burnout.

According to the announcement, the first NFT drop of these branded non-fungible tokens will include “eight of the company's most sought-after alloys” such as the Dekagram, Hypergram and more, with the collection being geared to not only those interested in NFTs but also to fans of motorsport.

The President of Konig America, Scott Weiss, said the following in the official announcement

We are thrilled to add those characteristics to the digital versions of our wheels, which are already some of the strongest, lightest, and most advanced on the market."

Next to featuring these new NFTs, Torque Drift and Torque Burnout, both Polygon-based titles, will also be getting a weekly challenge mode at some point this year for players to enjoy and earn rewards from.

The press release also claims that those who own Premium Keychain NFTs will be getting access to an “exclusive early experience to Torque Drift 2” in the first half of this year, after which the open beta will launch for everyone to play.
