Gomble Games has announced it will pause its creator platform, Gomble Builders, citing low participation. The company shared the update through an official post on X, saying the decision comes after "careful consideration." The team said the move will help sharpen focus on its core game products, including WTF Defense, which is still in active development.
In their words, "This is not a step back—it's a step forward in focus." Despite ending the Builders project, Gomble says it remains committed to building fun and accessible web3 games through key partnerships and continued updates.

What Is Gomble Builders?
Gomble Builders was a community creation platform launched in May 2025. The goal was to let people contribute to game content in real ways. This included adding new ideas, using NFT art, building characters with AI tools, and sharing game revenue. The platform was meant to be a new way for fans, holders, and developers to work together in shaping games from the ground up.
Anyone who held an NFT, supported a meme-token project, or had ideas for assets could submit their content through the platform. Selected assets and ideas would then be included in actual GOMBLE games. Contributors were promised a share of the revenue that these games earned.
The team partnered with several web3 groups to support the project. These included Story (for IP checks), PG/Jirasan and DXNK (for NFT use), Adventure Layer (an AI gaming layer by AGLD DAO), and meme groups like MEW and Hippo. At its peak, Gomble Builders was backed by strong names in the space and had the tools to succeed. But in the end, it did not see the level of support needed to continue.
Why Was It Suspended?
The reason for the suspension, as stated by Gomble, is low participation. Despite a strong start and solid vision, the number of active users and content creators fell short. Gomble said this lack of engagement made it hard to justify continuing the platform.
In their announcement, the team said it wants to "focus on core product development." One of those core products is WTF Defense, a game that was first created under the Builders program. This title is still being developed and has not been affected by the suspension. Gomble made it clear that the Builders shutdown does not mean the end of their push into user-created content; it simply means they are refocusing their efforts.

About Gomble Games
Gomble Games, often called GOMBLE, is the web3 gaming arm of South Korean game studio 111%. The studio has a long history of success in mobile gaming. With Gomble, they aim to bring casual gamers into the world of blockchain.
Their games are made to be simple, fun, and playable on mobile. Titles like Merge Lion, Rumby Party, and the Telegram hit EggDrop are early examples of their work. EggDrop, in particular, reached 3 million monthly players and saw 600,000 daily active users. All these games included token rewards, team mechanics, and easy-to-use features.
Gomble uses a system called Proof of Squad (PoSQ). This tracks group play and rewards teams, not just solo users. It helps make web3 gaming more social and more fair. Players can earn by working together, not just by playing the most.
The GOMBLE platform is powered by the $GM token. This token supports everything from game rewards to creator payments and developer tools. There are 1 billion tokens in total, with about 275 million now in circulation. The token has a market cap of around $3 million. It also uses buyback-and-burn rules and offers grants to developers. Players can also stake $GM tokens for extra perks.
The Builders Vision
When Gomble Builders launched in May 2025, the vision was bold. The idea was to give everyday players the power to shape the games they love. Gomble wanted to build games that were made not just by developers, but by the people who play them.
Builders supported both creators and fans. NFT holders could submit artwork, memes, or game ideas. Coders and game designers could help build logic and characters using AI tools. In return, creators could earn a share of the game's profits. This system promised to reward input in real ways, all tracked and verified on-chain.
The platform's first tool was a licensing marketplace for NFTs. Here, people could pitch their IP and see it brought to life in games. If selected, that NFT could be used as a character, skin, or item, with creators paid from game revenue. This connected the world of digital ownership with real mobile game economies.
Unlike many other web3 projects, Builders was made for the mass market. It didn't stop at crypto-native users. It aimed for wide mobile reach across app stores and everyday devices.
What Happens Next?
For now, Gomble Builders is suspended. The team hasn't said if it will return in another form later. What is clear is that Gomble wants to double down on its main products. The company is putting full energy into building games like WTF Defense.
No new games have been announced yet. But with the Builders platform on hold, more focus will go into games that are already in progress. That includes building on lessons learned from Builders and finding new ways to bring players into the creative process.
A Shift in Focus
This move marks a change in how Gomble plans to grow. Instead of trying to scale both game development and user co-creation at the same time, it will now invest more in games with clear value and strong player interest.
The decision may also reflect a wider challenge in web3 gaming. While many people like the idea of building and earning together, not all platforms reach the scale they hope for. Gomble's choice to pause Builders is a sign that even strong ideas need active, ongoing support from users.
As the web3 game space matures, success may come not just from bold plans, but from tight focus and simple gameplay that works at scale. Gomble seems to be making that bet.
Their next steps will show how they plan to balance fun games, token use, and social features in a space still figuring itself out. Until then, all eyes are on what Gomble has planned next.
