Following the open beta launch of Boss Fighters in August, the asymmetrical PC/VR web3 game is soon ready to launch its Economy Test to allow you to monetize your blockchain gaming experience.
The Economy Test is an upcoming play to earn period in which your skill-based gameplay as a PC fighter and VR boss in Boss Fighters will be rewarded with a tradable premium currency referred to as Proxy $BFT while you help the developers test the economy system to make it ready for the web3 game’s future official release. Proxy $BFT isn’t the same as the $BFT cryptocurrency that is planned to go live at some point later. Still, Proxy Tokens will be tradable on Open Loot, but you can also use them craft Digital Collectibles, which you may want to do in order to increase your Proxy $BFT earnings. You won’t get to keep Proxy $BFT after this test is over, but you will still continue to own resources and the items that you craft, making it another good reason to invest your Proxy Tokens into crafting digital assets.
This is set to be a big milestone for the Open Loot-powered title, which will eventually be followed by the TGE for its $BFT token, and then by the game’s official Early Access launch on Steam. You can download the current demo of this web3 title on Steam and create an account to begin playing.
If you’re interested in taking part in what looks to be a reward-packed playtest, you will need to be a Showrunner Contract holder of any rarity, but also own at least 1 Fighter, 1 Boss, and 1 Weapon from any collection. However, even if you don’t own a Showrunner Contract, you will still have a chance of earning Proxy $BFT by owning Disposable Badges, which are non-tradable, non-purchasable items that will be possible to win in events.
Anyone who wants to get a Showrunner Contract but missed out on the Mystery Box sale earlier this year will now have to either buy them on Open Loot’s secondary NFT marketplace, try your luck in partnered guild activities (guilds listed here), or win in activities hosted by the game’s team themselves. Another option that will also be available is to rent this NFT from Open Loot, but more info on that is planned to be given in the future.
With a Showrunner Contract, you have the ability to craft a Badge that you can attach to your playable Fighter or Boss. By playing matches with a Fighter or Boss that is equipped with a Badge, you can earn Proxy $BFT. You can equip up to 5 Badges to earn more Proxy $BFT per match. The rarer your Showrunner Contract is, the rarer the Badges you can craft, meaning more Proxy $BFT to earn per match. Lower-rarity Badges can be combined to craft a rarer one.
Badges however need to be recharged after using them for a certain number of matches. To recharge a Badge, you need FLEX and Sponsor Marks. FLEX is a hard currency that can be earned in-game in various different ways, while Sponsor Marks are a tradable currency on Open Loot that you can earn by crafting and merging Digital Collectibles.
Next to earning Proxy $BFT, your gameplay is also rewarded with various items that can be used to craft Digital Collectibles that come attached with Value Perks. These Value Perks can further increase your Proxy $BFT earnings. If you merge identical items to create one of higher rarity, you will have even more Value Perks to boost your rewards. Rarer skins feature better perks that nicely increase your profits.
Since a loadout in Boss Fighters can consist of a Character, a Weapon, a Gadget, and a skin for each of these assets, you can technically have up to 12 Value Perks if everything is of Legendary rarity (3 from skins and 9 from assets). To get the most out of Value Perks, you may want to spend FLEX in the merging item process in order to have the option to selectively pick the Perks you’d like to see transferred to your enhanced asset. In an official Medium guide, the developers suggest focusing on Value Perks that complement each other while equipping Digital Collectible skins featuring bonus Perks that further complement the ones your items have for maximum efficiency.
No official starting date has been given for the Economy Test at the time of writing.
