The developers of Genesis Universe have announced the introduction of Faction Wars in New Horizon, which is the version 2.0 of the NFT card game that is coming soon in beta.
Faction Wars is a new game mode that players will be able to access through a new portal on the map, taking them to new worlds in which players work together and against each other on their quest to earning rare NFTs.
Players will be able to choose where they’d like to set up their base as one of 6 different factions and begin their territorial conquest while strategizing, upgrading and defending their home turf. There are a total of 7 worlds or lands to battle in, each further subdivided into smaller tiles of land. Out of the 7, one is neutral territory, while the others represent the homes of certain factions.
The gameplay feature is said to bring various benefits to players who do their part in this new mode. By conquering more territories, you are able to gain more earnings, while successfully defending your land is rewarded with more resources to mine. Over time you will get to upgrade your base, and doing so is also said to come with various rewards according to the announcement.
This mode comes as part of Genesis Universe: New Horizon, a new version of the Web3 title that introduces new maps and new characters alongside this guild-based gameplay. A release date does not seem to be available at the time of writing, with the developers teasing that the beta launch is coming soon.
