Developer Uncharted has announced that Season 2 testnet of idle strategy game Gangster Arena is now live on the Blast L2 network for anyone to play for free, with gamers having a chance of getting token rewards that will be airdropped later on mainnet.

Season Details

After offering 1 million $FIAT tokens in the first public playtest, this season features a total prize pool of 2 million $GREED tokens, half of which players can earn a share of by playing for free. The other half is referred to as the $GREED Fairdrop and is rewarded for creators questing on the Uncharted Rewards portal while creating Twitter content, with tweets liked by the game’s official account earning points, while more views also award more points, in turn leading to a higher share of $GREED rewards.

Playtest to Earn

In order for earning via playtesting to be fair, this season will not use $ETH like the first season did. Instead, players are given random amounts of uETH to use to play the high-stakes game by trading it in for $GREED, the in-game currency that will be capped and become a deflationary token next season. Players must use in-app swaps to trade currencies, as transferring uETH or $GREED directly to another player could be viewed as botting or using multiple accounts, disqualifying you from seasonal rewards.

The 1 million $GREED allocated for playtesting will be distributed based on the profit players achieve at the end of the season. Profit is calculated by comparing your starting uETH amount with your final uETH balance. Final $GREED holdings are also considered when calculating rewards.

The risk-to-earn idle game is played via browsers and has players generating $GREED by buying Gangsters using $GREED swapped from starting uETH. Gangsters can be levelled up to increase daily earnings using xGREED. To get xGREED, you need to purchase Goons. Next to leveling up the gang, xGREED can also be converted into $GREED.

While your gang lets you idly earn and claim rewards, you can also raid other players through the Gang Wars mode to steal most of their $GREED tokens.

Bonus Rewards

Next to the main prize pools, players also stand a chance of earning bonus rewards. According to the official Twitter thread, this season is “the most rewarding one ever,” as 100% of Blast Gold allocation from the L2 network is going to the players, and so are 100% Blast Points alongside U Points for $U rewards from the Uncharted Foundation.
