The Echo Realm Opens for Limited Access
Gala Games has officially opened the gates to Mirandus: Eternal Night for an exclusive alpha release. The studio confirmed the limited access phase via its official channel, with adventurers now able to take their first steps into the Echo Realm and test the core features of the persistent fantasy RPG. The exclusive alpha launches as a critical testing phase rather than the full release, with the team using the window to shape the final experience based on real player behavior.
The framing from the studio is direct. This is not the official launch. Features, gameplay, and progress are all subject to change or reset. But the dangers lurking within The Absence, the cosmic void at the heart of the game's narrative, are described as very real, and Gala is asking players to help conquer them.
What Players Can Test in the Alpha
The alpha rolls out the foundation of what Mirandus: Eternal Night will become. Players step into the persistent 3D hex-based world as an Echo, the base character available to everyone in this phase. Equipping Exemplars, the existing Mirandus NFT character collection, will be unlocked in a future update. For now, every player runs through the same starter framework, with survival skills and resource management as the determining factor rather than NFT ownership.
The core gameplay loop is built around four steps: Explore, Risk, Gather, Return Alive. Players spend Energy to move across hexes, trigger Hazard events, and engage in turn-based auto-battles against mutated creatures. The golden rule of the game is simple and unforgiving. If a player's HP hits 0, their gathered non-NFT inventory may be lost unless they retreat to the safety of a lighted Town to secure it.
That extraction-style risk pattern places Mirandus: Eternal Night in the same conceptual lane as Cambria's upcoming Dungeons mode and other extraction RPGs running across the Web3 gaming category. Each run becomes a calculated decision on how deep to push before turning back, with the threat of total inventory loss acting as the constant pressure on every choice.
Store and Boss Event Coming Soon
The studio is positioning the alpha as a head start for accumulating resources before two major updates land. The Store will officially open in the near future, giving players the venue to gear up and acquire vital supplies. A massive new Boss Event is also scheduled to follow, with Gala framing the rewards as incredible for the most prepared Echoes who can survive the encounter.
The advice from the team is to stockpile aggressively during this phase. Resources gathered in the alpha period are positioned as the foundation for what comes once the Store and Boss Event activate. Players who skip the early window and arrive only when the Store opens will be entering a player-driven market where the existing alpha cohort has already accumulated supplies, gear, and economic positioning.
This alpha access is the first step in what Gala has been describing as Mirandus: Eternal Night's full economic rollout. The earlier sneak peek announcement, published April 24, laid out the broader product vision. The studio is building a player-driven fantasy world where ownership, economy, and progression are all real, with NFT-backed gathering, crafting, trading, and competition as the core economic substrate.
The Cosmic Hunt and World Boss Mechanics
The longer-term economic loop, previewed in the studio's earlier communications, sits around an event called The Cosmic Hunt. This is the global high-stakes event triggered by player activity that the upcoming Boss Event in the alpha will preview at smaller scale. Marketplace and in-game fees feed a global reward pool that grows with player activity. As the pool grows, competition intensifies. When the threshold is hit, a World Boss spawns into the game world.
The reward distribution is designed to drive aggressive engagement. The player who deals the most damage to the World Boss secures 70 percent of the loot pool. The adventurer who lands the final strike walks away with the remaining 30 percent. That structure rewards both sustained DPS and tactical positioning to land the killing blow, creating two parallel paths for top players to chase rewards inside a single encounter.
Mirandus NFT support is also coming soon, with a phased rollout beginning with a core set and expanding over time. The full reintegration of the existing Mirandus Exemplar collection into Eternal Night gives long-time NFT holders a clear path back into the game's progression layer once the rollout begins.
A New Direction for the Mirandus Universe
Mirandus: Eternal Night was officially introduced on March 31, 2026, with the studio describing it as the start of a new chapter in the Mirandus universe. The persistent multiplayer fantasy experience pivots the franchise from the existing open-world exploration that has defined Mirandus's earlier playtests into a more structured hex-based exploration and auto-battler RPG with deliberate extraction risk built into every session.
The narrative framing centers on a sun that is fading and darkness that is spreading. Cities stand as fragile pockets of light. Beyond them lies danger and opportunity. Players push their luck or risk losing everything. Light drives trade, visibility, and player activity. Darkness creates the high-risk environment where the biggest loot drops and the most valuable resources can be found. No place stays safe forever, and the world remembers player actions as the economy and map evolve.
Town ownership is one of the systems being layered into the longer-term design. Players will be able to own towns, place shops, and control trade. Town owners capture value from player activity inside their territory and can influence the map itself. That puts Mirandus: Eternal Night squarely in the pattern of player-driven economic games where land and infrastructure ownership translate directly into economic upside.
The Mirandus Heritage
For readers new to the title, Mirandus is Gala Games' web3 MMO that has been in active development for several years. The original Mirandus playtests rolled out an open-world fantasy experience with NFT Exemplar characters serving as the gateway to the game world. Exemplar collections sold out during their initial mints, with all Exemplars belonging to distinct factions and bloodlines including elves, orcs, dwarves, halflings, and humans. Each Exemplar carries its own strengths, lore, and specialties.
Earlier Mirandus updates rolled through Narrows Landing's redesign, the introduction of Goblin scavengers and hunter goblins, the Awakened State elemental combat system, expanded crafting recipes, the Skywound Mine zone updates, and a public preview opening to all Exemplar owners on April 9. Throughout 2025, the studio shipped at a steady cadence with monthly content drops, leaderboard events, and economic system tests.
The Thirst of the Deep event in December 2025 distributed 128,200 GALA across the top 150 adventurers, with the top 10 receiving the exclusive Champions Hat I (Legendary) NFT. That same event structure is the template Gala is now scaling into Mirandus: Eternal Night's Cosmic Hunt and Boss Event design.
How It Fits in Gala's Broader Strategy
The Mirandus: Eternal Night alpha launches inside Gala Games' broader 2026 portfolio refresh. The studio recently rolled out Legends and Dragons across iOS and Android app stores, extending its match-3 RPG title into the mobile market under the GalaChain banner. The mobile distribution strategy and the alpha launch of Eternal Night sit on opposite ends of the same gameplay spectrum, casual mobile RPG distribution on one side and deep PC-first persistent extraction RPG on the other.
Both titles run on GalaChain, the studio's Layer 1 blockchain that went live with the GALA token in January 2024. GalaChain serves as the underlying infrastructure for game asset ownership, marketplace activity, and economic flows across the full Gala portfolio.
President of Blockchain Jason "Bitbender" Brink has been clear that Gala's strategy is to build games mainstream gamers can enjoy first, with blockchain ownership and economy layers earning their way into the experience rather than being shoved in front of new players. Mirandus: Eternal Night's alpha keeps that pattern. Players step in as Echoes, the universal base character, with the NFT and economic layers rolling in as the testing phase progresses.
How to Join the Alpha
The alpha is now open through the Mirandus: Eternal Night access link at links.gala.com/mirandus-eternal-night. The studio has flagged the alpha as a pre-release test environment with features, gameplay, and progress all subject to change or reset.
The next signals to watch are the Store opening, the Boss Event activation, the phased rollout of Mirandus NFT support, and the eventual scaling of the Cosmic Hunt into the full global event format. With the alpha live and the head start window now open, the gates to the Echo Realm are open for adventurers willing to test their survival skills against The Absence.
