The Forgotten Runiverse team has officially released a big new update called The Sunflower Farm, adding a wide range of new content and improvements so that both new and returning players of this MMORPG can have an even better blockchain gaming experience.

What’s New in Forgotten Runiverse’s The Sunflower Farm Update?

The Sunflower Farm update improves Forgotten Runiverse by raising the level cap to 30 while introducing a new dungeon, a new hidden cave, 4 new spells, 2 new gear sets, and a number of improvements and balancing changes.

The level cap has been raised from level 25 to level 30, so if you previously reached the max level, it’s time to come back and grind you way to the new limit. Existing content has also been rescaled as a result of this increase to create a “smoother and more rewarding path forward.”

But let’s move on to the bigger additions, and that is the release of a new dungeon: Sunflower Farm. This is a sunny new landscape in The Wild that is inspired by stories from the Book of Lore, which is where the community can contribute to the decentralized fantasy franchise of Forgotten Runes Wizard’s Cult by writing their own lore. While this new area may seem all bright on the surface, it’s far from a cozy place to be in, as it contains the hardest PvE content ever added to the game so far. There are unique mechanics here, secrets, “brutal encounters,” and rare rewards for the most daring adventurers to try and earn. You do not need to meet any specific requirement to enter this new dungeon, so anyone who feels brave enough can give this new PvE area a shot.

Next to the challenging new dungeon, there are also 4 new spells to try out: Congeal, Corrupting Pox, Defiling Rune, and Vigilant Decoy. These come with unique, experimental status effects that the developers are testing out for both PvE and PvP gameplay, so your feedback for these are important for balancing things out. You can find these new spells in Common and Uncommon versions. Common forms can be found across The Wild, while Uncommon versions are exclusively found in the new dungeon.

There are now two new complete gear sets added to the game to give players more build variety while supporting end-game gameplay. The 2 new gear sets include the Alchemist Set and the Ceratopsian Set.

The Alchemist Set is focused on helping players build more Speed-based DPS builds and is found in the new dungeon, while the Ceratopsian Set is about reinforcing hybrid DPS/Tank builds. You can find the Ceratopsian Set in the new Delve activity, info on which has been kept a secret. It's mentioned that you can locate the new Delve activity in a hidden cave in the overworld. “Beware the sharp teeth and claws” might be a hint that could help you figure out the location of this new content.

“This is one of our most exciting updates yet, not just for what it adds, but for what it sets in motion. Whether you’re min-maxing your build or just eager to explore, there’s never been a better time to jump in. See you on the farm.”

Plans for the Next Update

About 2-3 weeks later, the developers are planning to follow up on The Sunflower Farm with a new update that will be particularly focused on overhauling the early game experience, from level 1 to 15. The team hopes to deliver better narrative hooks, more streamlined quest progression, and an improved onboarding experience.

Next to revamping the early game content, there are also plans to introduce a new Glory and Renown system. Glory will be a new stat earned by winning PvP battles, and will be used to rank up on leaderboards for rewards. This specifically refers to guild vs guild PvP though. Guilds will get to accrue Renown by doing activities such as clearing Omen dungeons and crafting T4 items, and then that Renown is used to take part in guild-based battles. By winning a guild vs guild PvP battle, you gain Glory based on the amount of Renown the defeated guild has. If you lose, you lose your Renown, as it is taken away by the winning side in the form of Glory to climb up the ranks. So, if the enemy guild has Renown and you win, only then will you get Glory, but if they don’t have Renown, you don’t get any Glory from winning the battle.

While the Glory and Renown systems are already in place, the actual competitive event will be hosted later and feature $PIXEL rewards for the top 8 guilds.
