The FaenoraVerse team has announced the next major event inside its growing ecosystem: Guild Wars, a 10-day competitive guild-based mode that begins on September 26 at 11:30 AM PST. The event will run for 10 days and offers a total prize pool of 500,000 $MCHY. The structure is elimination-based, and once players lose all their tokens, they're out unless their guild steps in.
This marks the first large-scale group event since the FaenoraVerse rebooted its Alpha Hunt tournament earlier this month. While that earlier event focused on individual runs, Guild Wars introduces a survival-based format driven by collective guild performance.
One Guild, One Code
To take part in Guild Wars, players must register a Faenora account at Faenora.world, then link it to ReplyCorp. This is required to join any official events. Once set up, players can bind themselves to a single guild by entering the guild's unique reward code.
Codes for supported guilds like NeoTokyo or The Wardens are shared publicly through the FaenoraVerse X account. Once you choose a guild, you can't switch. Binding is permanent for the duration of the event.
There is no need to purchase NFTs to take part in the Guild Wars.
How Guild Wars Works
Every registered hunter will start with 75,000 $MCHY tokens. These tokens are used to enter hunts, reroll traits, or revive fallen units. In Guild Wars, tokens are life. Once your balance hits zero, you are eliminated from the event. There are no redos or automatic resets.
The goal is to collect Nethertalons by defeating Netherbeasts and surviving longer than the rest. At the end of 10 days, the Top 5 guilds with the highest total Nethertalon count will split the 500,000 $MCHY prize pool equally.
Survival Depends on Pre-Sale NFTs
The only way to extend your participation in Guild Wars is through pre-sale NFTs. These NFTs, when purchased, add 10,000 $MCHY to your guild's shared token pool. The buyer must choose a recipient when the NFT is purchased. That hunter can then be revived or continue playing.
This mechanic allows guilds to support their strongest or most strategic players. However, the number of NFTs is limited. Only 100 Mercenaries are up for grabs during this sale. This limit was set to prevent guilds from gaining an unfair advantage by overspending.
Fair Play and Anti-Cheat
To keep the competition fair, all participants must link their Faenora email accounts with ReplyCorp. This is a required step to stop multi-account abuse. Players found cheating will be permanently banned from all future events.
There are no backup accounts, extra tokens, or alternate entries allowed. If you're out of $MCHY and not revived by your guild, your event run ends. All players must follow the same rules, and all token spending decisions are final.
Example: How a Guild Comeback Could Work
If a guild like NeoTokyo enters with 10 players, they start with a combined 750,000 $MCHY. By day 4, several hunters may be eliminated. If the guild then chooses to buy 5 pre-sale NFTs, they gain an extra 50,000 $MCHY, which they can assign to select players. Those players can re-enter the fight and continue collecting Nethertalons.
Final rankings will depend on how many Nethertalons each guild secures. Not all revivals will pay off, so choosing who gets revived is part of the strategy.
From Alpha Hunt to Guild Wars
The Guild Wars event comes shortly after the return of Alpha Hunt, FaenoraVerse's first live competition. That event was first launched on August 30 but paused due to technical problems. Some issues at the time included token imbalances, broken onboarding, and bugs that impacted fairness. On September 10, the tournament officially restarted.
To rejoin the Alpha Hunt, players were required to own at least 1x Mercenary NFT, priced at 120 USDC. One lucky buyer from that group also received Alistair, a rare event-exclusive unit.
The Alpha Hunt also used a 75,000 $MCHY survival format. Each hunter spent tokens on tactical decisions during roguelite runs. The event added a bounty of 10,000 $MCHY for anyone who could beat the Nethergryphon boss. It also featured a creator contest for highlight clips and partnered with Sploot AI to manage video content.
How FaenoraVerse Tournaments Work
Inside FaenoraVerse, competitive modes run on tight survival mechanics. Each player starts with a token supply and loses access to the event once they run out. The tournament format requires players to make smart use of limited $MCHY by balancing spending on upgrades, healing, revives, or re-rolling units.
The structure is unforgiving. Mistakes can cost the entire run. Players can choose to exit early using Escape Portals, but that also means leaving tokens on the table.
Inside the FaenoraVerse Ecosystem
FaenoraVerse is built by 2TG Entertainment, a studio based in Vancouver. The project includes two games. The first, Wildlands of Faenora, is a narrative-based tactical RPG. The second, To The Grave: Hunters of Faenora, is where most of the competitive events are held.
In Hunters of Faenora, players operate on a 3×3 tactical grid and must spend resources to run missions, reroll units, or revive fallen allies. The game uses the $MCHY token as its native currency. Units come in 2 types: Villagers and Mercenaries. Mercenaries are stronger and will have more options during runs.
Players can access the game in two ways. A Standard Edition is available for web2 platforms and does not use NFTs or tokens. The FaenoraVerse Edition, by contrast, runs in web3-enabled browsers and includes full access to NFTs, tokens, and trading systems.
Team Behind the Game
FaenoraVerse is built by a small team of industry veterans. The CEO, Nathan Montgomery, has credits on titles like Age of Empires IV, Warhammer 40K, and Gears of War. Other key team members include:
- Mitch Lagran (Game Development Lead)
- Deshaun Baylock (Web3 Gamification)
- Noah Petrides (Game Engineering)
- Andres Silva (Game Developer)
- Saar Bodman (UI/UX Artist)
- Jamie Quiring (Composer)
The group has focused on merging roguelite mechanics with competitive multiplayer and NFT elements, while keeping clear separation between web2 and web3 players.
Upcoming Events and Community Plans
Guild Wars is not the only thing happening in the FaenoraVerse this week. The team had secured angel investment to support future development and game launches.
On September 23, the developers held an AMA session with NeoTokyo and previewed an early Guild Wars trait design. They are also preparing to release a game guide that will include item breakdowns and internal mechanics.
Fans can expect more posts this week, some educational and others more community-focused. There's also an open call for video editors to help create short-form content, clips, and podcast summaries.
Meanwhile, top 25 hunters from the Alpha Hunt have been contacted on X to vote for their exclusive trait reward. These traits are tied to 3 mask options, as seen in earlier previews.
