What is BeyondHuman?

BeyondHuman is a turn-based strategy game set in a near-future world where human creations have rebelled. Players explore a post-apocalyptic world, searching for resources, forming alliances, and fighting in strategic battles.

To start playing BeyondHuman, you need to hold an Avatar NFT, which acts as your unique license key. Once you have an Avatar, you can dive into the world of BeyondHuman through the Grid Game. In this game, you'll experience detailed map exploration as you leave the Safe Zone to scavenge for valuable resources. 

Each turn requires strategic decisions on movement and actions, such as scavenging, attacking, evading, or bombing. You will form alliances, negotiate, and even deceive other players to gain an edge. Survival involves managing risks while encountering rival factions and AI agents, all while collecting points that convert into the in-game currency, COGS. 

Additionally, you can level up your Avatar, earn experience points, unlock new skills, and utilize semi-autonomous SYNCs to enhance your strategies.

The Lore

The game unfolds in a world drastically changed by an event known as The Fall. Humanity lost control over its society, leading to chaos and fragmentation. Players start their journey in the ruins of a densely packed city, working with other survivors to gather essential supplies and rebuild what was lost. Venturing outside the city’s safety, they face constant threats from rival factions and AI entities. 

Main Gameplay

At the heart of BeyondHuman is the Grid Game, a strategic battle where players leave the Safe Zone to scavenge for loot over six days. Each round of the Grid Game is divided into movement and action phases, making it crucial to plan every step carefully.

In the movement phase, players select their destination on the map. Each move can be up to three squares away, and strategy plays a key role as players decide whether to move towards valuable resources or avoid potential conflicts with other players. 

During the action phase, players choose one of several actions: scavenging for resources, attacking other players to steal their loot, evading to hide from conflicts, or using bombs to disrupt all players in the same location. The primary objective is to collect as many points as possible, which are then converted into the in-game currency, COGS. The more points you collect, the more COGS you earn.

Strategic elements of the game include negotiation, deception, and the use of SYNCs.  Trust and betrayal are integral parts of the gameplay, as players can form temporary alliances and then betray their partners to gain an advantage. 

SYNCs are semi-autonomous AI entities controlled by players that perform tasks like scavenging, combat, and negotiation, enhancing strategic gameplay. They are directed by player commands and operate independently to complete assigned tasks, providing additional support and complexity to the game.

Tokens play a crucial role in BeyondHuman. Players earn COGS by collecting points during the Grid Game. These tokens can be used to purchase tactical gear, luxury items, and additional Avatars from the Shop. They can also be used to bribe other players to perform specific actions or to avoid attacking you. Additionally, COGS can be spent to upgrade Avatars, enhancing their skills and abilities to improve your chances in future games.

Additional Game Modes

BeyondHuman has introduced variants of the core game mode, with plans to add more in the future. Currently, there are two additional game modes:

• DETONATE: This mode involves using bombs and explosive tactics, adding more strategy and intensity.
• ELIMINATION: This mode focuses on eliminating opponents through strategic combat and outsmarting other players.

How to Win

Winning in BeyondHuman requires a combination of strategic movement, smart action choices, and effective negotiation. At the end of the six-day scavenging period, players with the most points are declared the winners and receive additional rewards and bonuses. 

Players are represented by Avatars, which serve as unique license keys to their accounts. These Avatars are NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), providing true ownership and the ability to trade them freely. Also, Avatars can level up, earn experience points, and unlock new skills, but they are also susceptible to perma-death, adding a high-stakes element to the gameplay. There are three main collections of Avatars: Founder, Faction, and Launch, each released in different phases with unique issuance amounts. Founder Avatars were claimed via game currency in the initial phase.

Safe Zone Land

In BeyondHuman, players can secure a plot of land in the Safe Zone, an area within the game's expansive cityscape. Here, they can use scavenged supplies to build and develop their bases among other survivors.

Land Utility

Owning land in the Safe Zone provides several benefits and opportunities:

• Income Generation: Players can earn income through the Prosperity Grant, which rewards landowners based on their land's activity and utility.
• Building Structures: Players can construct various structures on their land, such as bases, team headquarters, and storage facilities. Initially, these structures will store essential items like weapons, armor, and other scavenging equipment. Over time, players will be able to add vehicles, workstations, and decorative items.
• Future Expansion: Future updates may allow players to build commercial premises, offering items and services to other players, creating a bustling in-game economy.

Land in the Safe Zone can be made private, invite-only, or open to all, providing flexibility in how players manage and interact with their properties. While the in-game utility of these plots will not be available immediately, it will be introduced in later stages of the project's development.

Types of Land

• Founder Land: These plots are where the first settlers of the Safe Zone established their homes, nestled among the city ruins.
• Faction Land: As the Safe Zone expanded, different factions claimed new areas of the city to settle and develop.

Tokenomics

BeyondHuman features a web3 currency system where the in-game currency, COGS, holds real-world value. This incentivizes rational behavior from both human players and AI agents, ensuring that decisions have significant consequences. Players earn COGS by participating in the Grid Game, where their actions and strategic decisions convert into points, subsequently turned into COGS. 

The game's economy is further enriched by Safe Zone land, where players can build bases, store items, and earn income through the Prosperity Grant. 

The Shop is an essential part of the economy, allowing players to spend their COGS on Avatars, tactical items, and luxury benefits, which enhance their gameplay experience and provide strategic advantages.

As the game evolves, BeyondHuman will introduce more advanced AI interactions and expand the game world with new PVP zones and PVE missions.
