After streamlining auto-battler gameplay earlier this month, the Eternal Dragons team is back with patch 0.3.0036, introducing a proof-of-concept PvE mode while bringing in various enhancements that include solo unit locking, a new tactical element, and more.
In the latest update to the Web3 mobile title, the developers have added in the Eternal Dragons Saga mode, a PvE game mode in which players go on a journey across various different chapters consisting of numerous stages to battle through. The version that launched with this update represents a proof of concept, and as such will continue to be worked on in the coming weeks. As a result, there are no Easy and Hard difficulty modes to choose from, and Eternium rewards are not yet available, though the latter is set to be “added soon.” When a new player jumps into the game for the first time, they’ll be able to play through this new Saga mode as well as the Challenge mode. In order to unlock PvP, you have to try out the Challenge mode.
The new tactical element in question is roar variability. There are now random roar directions, with units showing how much power they have in varying directions, thus leading to battles with “diverse strategies and unexpected dynamics.”
Adding further to strategic depth is solo or individual unit locking that allows you pick the units you want instead of “locking entire shops.”
Gameplay has been further streamlined with the introduction of automated unit placement. This means that when you get a unit, it’ll be auto-placed on the board, helping newcomers have their units placed in a proper way that aims to help in teaching strategic combat.
