Web3 gaming platform Eragon has officially kicked off its first real-time airdrop in the beta version of its 3D metaverse, Eraverse. It started on October 1st at 4 AM UTC and is available for a very limited time, so here’s everything you need to know to start this quick play to airdrop experience.
To get started, you need to register on Eragon’s official website using a Google or Apple account. From there, you will need to import your Eragon Citizen NFT or Eragon Passport NFT, but if you don’t have any of those yet, then you will have to get one from either Wapal or BlueMove, both of which are marketplaces on the Aptos network. The links to both NFT collections on either marketplace can be found in this part of the official X thread, where you also have a video showing you how to import your NFT(s). Eragon Citizen NFTs have a lower floor price of 0.85 $APT (~$7.10) on Walpal at the time of writing, while 1 $APT (~$8.31) is the cheapest price for a Eragon Passport on BlueMove. The Eragon Passport collection is the older one, but NFTs from both collections will allow you access to the beta version of the futuristic metaverse, and thus a chance of participating in airdrops.
Basically, once you buy the required asset, you will have to connect your wallet to the blockchain gaming platform, head to the Eraverse section, and look in the ‘Instant Wallet’ area where your asset should show up. From there, you simply click on the NFT and press the import button, which will show you the amount of $APT you need for gas fees before confirming the transaction. Doing this will set your NFT as the avatar you will use in-game, making you officially ready to jump right in and enjoy exploring a sci-fi world while participating in airdrop sessions.
This metaverse’s first real-time airdorp began on October 1st at 4 AM UTC and is divided into 4 airdrop sessions that give you the opportunity to earn $EGON, pEGON, gift codes, and it seems even some $APT tokens as well.
Each airdrop session lasts only 30 minutes, and all are happening this October 1st. Here are the exact times:
This means that as of writing, there are 2 more airdrop sessions to go. By being active in the platform’s metaverse during those specified times, you stand a chance of earning the previously mentioned rewards.
Will there be more airdrop sessions in the future? Given that this is being referred to as their 1st real-time airdrop, I suppose that you can likely expect more opportunities like this to appear eventually.
$EGON is the upcoming native token of the Eragon platform, the development and distribution hub for web3 mobile games. Its utilities will include governance and DeFi functionalities, meaning you can use it for staking and yield farming, as well as for voting on future proposals to help shape this ecosystem. The token’s official page, which has a pie chart for token distribution, also refers to it being used for investments and payments, making $EGON the core token to use for making ecosystem transactions and for buying items in the platform’s own store.
According to the roadmap, $EGON is planned to be listed as a layer 3 token in Q4 2024 on decentralized and centralized exchanges. Development on the platform’s own layer 3 network seems to be currently underway, with $EGON set to power it.
If you’d like to receive an airdrop allocation of $EGON tokens on TGE, then the ongoing limited time sessions for NFT holders are one way to do that. You also have a free way to pre-mint though, and that is by logging in daily to the platform to claim your daily login reward. You can earn $pEGON this way, and on some specific days $EGON as well. This daily reward system is only available for the first 100k users on the platform, so you’ll want to hop in early while you still can if you’re interested in this ecosystem token. With a created account, you also start passively mining $pEGON, and you might be able to increase the mining speed per hour if there are any quests to complete. $pEGON will likely be converted to $EGON at some unspecified rate.
The Eragon platform is home to various casual games that contain $EGON seasonal prize pools. To compete for these prize pools featuring varying amounts of the platform’s token, you will need to pay a certain amount of $pEGON to try your spin to win luck at snagging a share of that game’s reward pool from its lucky wheel.
