The developers of Engines of Fury, a free-to-play top-down extraction shooter, have shared the first sneak peek of the upcoming pre-alpha while revealing various details that players can expect to experience in the new version of the post-apocalyptic blockchain title.
According to the Medium post from the team, the pre-alpha is an improvement on the demo in every way, featuring better art, animations, game direction and mechanics. There’s more in-game content to enjoy now and larger areas to explore. The pre-alpha will also come with a multiplayer game mode, adding an extra level of intensity to gameplay as you’ll not only have to survive against alien monsters, but also against hostile players.
Here’s the first sneak peek of the pre-alpha, an abandoned military base, representing the first location revealed so far:
The team aims to blend Diablo gameplay with the survival mechanics of Escape from Tarkov in order to provide an intense experience which starts from your hideout, representing your customizable and upgradable home in which you bring back various loot you find as you invade a variety of different maps and raid bosses as well as other players.
There will be a diverse range of biomes to experience throughout numerous different maps, with a playable area that “extends to 70 times the size of the demo,” giving you a huge world to explore and survive in.
Players will get to encounter over 30 different types of enemies, such as this one below:
