The Sandbox Alpha Season 4 is currently underway with a wide variety of voxel-based metaverse games for anyone to enjoy for a chance at earning $SAND tokens and NFT rewards. Among the many web3 gaming experiences available from renowned partners and brands is Fork Off by Hell’s Kitchen, the famous competitive cooking show by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. Let’s check out how their web3 game works and see how you can win an exclusive NFT just by playing for free.
Fork Off is a fast-paced single-player arcade game from The Sandbox’s long-lasting partner, Hell’s Kitchen, where the goal is to collect ingredients in a chaotic kitchen from a top-down perspective while trying to stay alive in order to earn as many points as you can from beating quests and collecting coins. As you jump through fiery hoops and avoid lava and flaming walls from burning you for dinner, you get to collect a variety of ingredients in order to try and complete culinary quests while using various power-ups to your advantage, such as speed boosts and coins for bonus points. Careful though, as there are also power-up items that are fake, and collecting them could slow you down and lower your HP!
While you swiftly but carefully get past many obstacles thrown by a massive head of Gordon Ramsay who insults you along the way in the manner he knows best, you’ll be constantly pushed back by the moving floor that acts as a conveyor belt which gets increasingly faster the longer you survive as it tries to throw you into the engulfing lava from behind, making speed boosts important to your success.
There are a total of 14 quests that players can complete in this arcadey experience for this season, allowing you to earn up to 55 EP (Ethos Points) in total. These missions are divided into 12 Normal, 1 Adventure, and 1 Hardcore quests, with additional Premium quests available to holders of the Entertainment Category Key S4 or Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Key S4. Completing the Adventure Quest is rewarded with an exclusive NFT. It seems like the quest becomes available once you complete most of the Normal quests or simply survive long enough. Normal quests generally involve colleting certain ingredients such as cheese, eggplants, and more, while the Adventure Quest has you collect fresh meat that only starts popping up once the quest is added to your list of objectives.
Ethos Points allow you to level up your way through this season’s Battle Pass, which contains 30 levels you can progress through to earn $SAND tokens and NFTs. Every 2nd level in the Battle Pass is only available to owners of the Alpha Pass, which can be won in a weekly raffle, but you can also look forward to potentially purchasing it this Wednesday, October 16th, potentially at 2 PM UTC. Having more EP could help you win the weekly raffle, while the final raffle of the season will feature 1000 $SAND to win.
You can start playing this fun metaverse game by clicking the Play button on the experience's official page. If you don’t have an account in The Sandbox, you’ll need to create it first using email, Google, or your wallet address, after which pressing the Play button will let you download this metaverse’s official launcher. Once you’re done installing, you will be taken straight to this game’s lobby room, where you can collect 3 in-game equipment to put on your avatar if you want to get a boost to your power, speed, and defense attributes. These include Chef’s Wings, Chef’s Bandana, and Chef’s Flaming Boots.
The first two can be bought as NFTs from the official marketplace, while the last one can be earned as an exclusive NFT by completing the Adventure Quest, where the goal is to collect 5 fresh meat. Once you do, you can claim your NFT by heading to the official claim page, which you can easily find by pressing P to open the battle pass screen, and then press the claim button to open the official website where you can click on another claim button to get to the right page. You’ll likely have unlocked the first few levels from the battle pass thanks to the EP you've collected from completing quests, meaning you’ll get to claim some $SAND tokens as well! At the time of writing however, claims are unavailable due to a high number of players taking part in this reward-packed season of The Sandbox, causing a delay in reward distribution. Hopefully it won't take long for claims to resume smoothly.
