Dæmons, an AI-powered web3 battler that turns your blockchain history into a digital companion, has officially published its Strategic & Tokenomic Lightpaper. The release outlines the project's long-term roadmap, token plans, and core gameplay strategies as the game pushes deeper into mainstream adoption across both web3 and web2.

Already live, Dæmons combines Tamagotchi-like companions with real-time battles, backed by a fast-growing community. The team has now shared the document that will guide its next phase of development, featuring an expanded player identity system, a unified token model, and a borderless gaming layer designed to work across chains.

What Is Dæmons?

At its core, Dæmons is a turn-based PvP and PvE game where each player owns a Dæmon: a pixelated digital companion that evolves over time and reacts to your onchain activity. This companion is shaped by your NFT holdings, transaction history, and more, bringing your web3 identity into the game world.

In its first month, the game has already drawn over 5,500 players. More than 500 users log in daily, and its first NFT collection (the OG Playable Omnichain NFTs) has sold out. The project has secured grants from Hedera, Polygon, Ancient8, and ChainGPT. It's also backed by top ecosystems like Avalanche, Base, Immutable, and Sonic, and has formed partnerships with SuperVerse, Neo Tokyo, Persona, Nifty Island, and others.

New Lightpaper Shares Vision for a Borderless Gaming Identity

The newly published Lightpaper details a bold vision: to create the first global, omnichain gaming identity layer. The team says every player will eventually own a Dæmon that carries their identity across both web2 and web3, offering a more connected and personal gaming experience.

The team claims that this isn't a play to earn model. Rather, Dæmons uses a "play-to-progress" approach, focusing on fun, community, and social prestige. Players evolve their companions, compete in leaderboards, and earn rewards by progressing, not just by grinding for tokens.

Core Strategic Pillars Behind Dæmons

According to the Lightpaper, the Dæmons strategy rests on 5 pillars:

Virality comes from clan battles, memes, referral systems, and flashy evolutions. Accessibility includes browser-based play, omnichain support through LayerZero, and low-cost entry. Brand Recognition is built via strong artwork, esports activations, and IP collaborations. Fun is found in PvP duels, AI-driven PvE storylines, and hidden easter egg hunts. Unique Moat involves its 12-chain integration, AI personalities, and revenue channels like IP-as-a-service.

These points anchor the project's roadmap and execution across each upcoming development phase.

$DMN Tokenomics and the Retirement of $DMNAI

The Lightpaper also confirms the sunset of the project's older token, $DMNAI, which will now be fully convertible to the main token $DMN at a premium rate. The change aims to simplify the ecosystem and reward early fans with a smooth transition into the new system.

The $DMN token will have a supply of 1 billion. Although its launch chain, partner, and exact timing are still to be announced, the token's use case is already available.

Players will be able to use $DMN for in-game purchases like cosmetic upgrades and evolutions, as well as for unlocking new characters. Staking $DMN will also unlock bigger future airdrops and reward boosts during tournaments.

As for distribution, 33% of the total supply is reserved for community rewards and incentives. Another 25% will be held in a treasury for ecosystem growth. The rest is split between the team, partners, liquidity, and early airdrops.

A Sustainable Value Loop

The Lightpaper also outlines a sustainable loop for token usage. Player actions like evolving Dæmons or buying items create token sinks. These sinks feed back into the gameplay loop as players gain prestige and flex status. This structure avoids the pitfalls of "extractive play to earn" systems and keeps value flowing back into gameplay.

Multi-Year Roadmap: 4 Phases of Expansion

The Lightpaper outlines a 4-phase development plan for Dæmons:

Phase 1: Launch (Already Completed)

This covered the initial rollout, NFT mint, and community onboarding.

Phase 2: Product-Market Fit (Now through Q4 2025)

The current phase is focused on scaling features and expanding partnerships. Key plans include integration with Immutable Play, mobile expansion across Southeast Asia, and the start of a dual-collection model. One collection is limited and paid, with full functionality. The other is free and has limited features for mass adoption.

This phase also introduces tournaments, quests, PvE encounters, and leaderboard challenges. The team hopes to reach 1,000–2,000 daily active users and 10,000 players by the end of 2025.

Phase 3: Web3 Scale-Up (2026)

Looking ahead to 2026, the project plans to push for wider adoption among web3 users. Bigger tournaments, stronger onboarding tools, and partnerships with guilds and ecosystems are on the roadmap.

Dæmons will also expand its presence on platforms like Farcaster and Telegram and deepen the PvE storytelling experience using AI. This phase targets 10,000 DAUs and 100,000 total users.

Phase 4: Web2 Expansion (2027–2028)

The final stage involves crossing into mainstream gaming. This includes streamer-led tournaments, esports org partnerships, and anime-inspired characters. Web2 identity systems will be linked with Dæmon characters for seamless onboarding.

The goal is to create a single identity layer that works across all games and chains. By 2028, the team hopes to reach 100,000 DAUs and more than a million users.

Risks and Competitive Edge

The Lightpaper also mentions common risks in blockchain gaming, such as retention issues and negative P2E stigma. Dæmons will counter this with daily loops and prestige-focused gameplay. It also points to its 12-chain omnichain setup and AI personality engine as strong moats over competing projects.

Opportunities Beyond the Game

Beyond gameplay, the team sees bigger opportunities. Dæmons could become a Pokémon-style brand for web3, powered by AI and identity. It also offers services like "IP-as-a-service" and "questing-as-a-service" to other games and ecosystems, opening B2B revenue options that don't rely solely on player spending.

Token-Linked Leaderboards and Tournaments

As of September 2025, the team has also kicked off its first major leaderboard campaign through Immutable Play. Players are competing for $10,000 in NFTs and 1,000,000 $DMN tokens. Daily quests, community missions, and NFT airdrops are live during this campaign.

The top 10 leaderboard finishers can earn between 30,000 and 300,000 $DMN each. Other players can win Dæmons NFTs and badges that boost future rewards.

There's also a separate Individual Leaderboard Tournament happening from September 11 to 15, offering $600 in prizes and rare character drops. Meanwhile, the ongoing Soul Points Program is tracking every in-game action, with players earning points toward the initial $DMN airdrop once the token goes live.

NFTs, Keys, and Immutable Gem Draws

Players can also earn NFTs through different quests, Discord game nights, and mid-campaign rewards. Dæmons NFTs act as an access pass to the game, and can now be bought only from secondary markets.

Weekly draws using Immutable Keys give players a chance to win rare prizes, including up to 199 IMX tokens. These keys come in 5 rarities and are earned by completing quests.

A Growing Ecosystem With Mainnet Access

Dæmons is now fully live on mainnet. The game can be accessed directly through mainnet.daemons.app, where players can raise, evolve, and battle their Dæmons in real-time. With daily quests, evolving storylines, and upcoming PvE features, the platform continues to grow its world and user base.
