Derby Stars, a horse racing metaverse game, has just announced a slew of exciting features for its Alpha build. According to the team, the playtest will go live on August 7th, allowing players to test and shape the game's future.
Some major upgrades to the Alpha include a new Core system integrated with the revised Training mechanic, a horse rental system, seasonal PvP tournaments, and a newly designed racing track. To make Training sessions more rewarding, the team plans to introduce a new system where players generate a unique core every 15 minutes of virtual training. Each core can be equipped for different purposes. For instance, a horse fitted with a high Stamina core would gain the upper hand in long-distance events.
Players can also choose specific goals for their Cores based on their preferences. For instance, a Training Goal could be "Win the G1 race more than X times," and upon completion, the Cores will be created with an extra Power stat.
Derby will also incorporate a new, innovative rental system where players can rent NFT horses for free. Horses from holders will be prioritized for rental. If the demand from new or existing users exceeds the supply in the market, the system will create and reserve a set amount of "non-tradable horses" that can be rented out. This allows anyone to play the game with little to no investment.
Seasonal PvP tournaments will also be added, allowing players to earn $RUN tokens based on how many points their horse has accumulated. Each season has its own unique characteristics, such as certain stats being more advantageous or the potential to earn more points on specific tracks. Players can compete in multiple categories: Local, National, Global, and World Series. A new racetrack, Gloria, will also hit the scene, featuring a racing course with frequent corners and a backdrop showing an urban landscape. For more details, check out the official post.
