Last week, Decentraland teamed up with Transak and Metaverse Architects to launch the world's first metaverse ATM. Acting as fiat to crypto on-ramp, the Transak ATM will allow users to easily buy $MANA and other crypto using their credit or debit cards.
Just like an ATM in real life, anyone can walk up to and interact with the virtual ATM in Decentraland. If users want to buy crypto, they will be taken to an encrypted page to complete their transactions. According to the team, the metaverse ATM will help create a more seamless journey for those who navigate Web3.
"We hope to support the burgeoning Decentraland ecosystem with the tools and technology necessary to facilitate frictionless payments that will increase conversion rates in stores and reduce the knowledge gap for participation in Decentraland," wrote Metaverse Architects.
Besides that, Decentraland is also providing monetization opportunities to landowners who install virtual ATMs on their lands. How it works is that from every transaction that stems from their plots, owners will earn part of the fees in return. Those interested will need to contact the Transak team by filling out a form.
Of course, if you want to try out the metaverse ATM yourself, feel free to drop by Airdrop Tower at [-7, -23] in Decentraland.
Without a doubt, the Transak ATM is a helpful tool for non-crypto native users to start out quickly in the metaverse. Last month, Decentraland joined forces with other Web3 platforms to form the Open Metaverse Alliance for Web3 (OMA3). This will allow it to work with other big names in Web3 to address interoperability issues among virtual worlds.
Other than that, Decentraland is a go-to platform to build blockchain games. One such project is Wilderness P2E, a free-to-play RPG that allows users to earn $WLDY tokens from battles they won.
