Cryptovoxels Wants to Make Sure People Actually Build

Cryptovoxels is introducing a new mechanic that will ensure people actually build something on their parcels and not use the virtual space for speculation only. Alongside a bid for a parcel on a Build Island, builders need to provide a building proposal created inside a test version of Cryptovoxels.

The test version of Cryptovoxels is something Ben Nolan has been calling Spaces. Only the owners can access their virtual rooms, so nobody can visit. Once someone has created something in the Cryptovoxels Spaces, the creator needs to submit it. Once approved, they can acquire land on a Build Island at a certain discount.

Spaces can be used for building proposals, but also to develop in secret. Landowners can move existing creations to Spaces, and they can then edit them in secret. Once they are happy with their creation, they can move the result back to the live parcel inside the virtual world of Cryptovoxels.

This Wednesday the team of Cryptovoxels is putting Euro Tower on auction. This will be a normal auction. However, they are working on another island called Kreuzberg. This will be the first island which will require users to propose their builds through Spaces.

What is Cryptovoxels?

Cryptovoxels is best compared with games like Minecraft, in which players get to build all kinds of things. However, where Minecraft is purely a video game, Cryptovoxels allows for all kinds of utilities. Currently this virtual world is often home to virtual reality conferences and computer-generated art. On top of that users have true land ownership in this world, secured by the Ethereum blockchain.

Land value in Cryptovoxels has increased tremendously in the past two years. Ben Nolan started developing his virtual world in 2018, and had a difficulty selling the land parcels he offered on a weekly basis. He accumulated over one million dollars with his blockchain project.

In recent months Cryptovoxels sold out its Origin City and has been adding additional smaller island. These sold out relatively fast. In addition they’ve been adding support for VR headsets, while they’ve ditched the native COLR token.

Anybody can visit Cryptovoxels, from any device. Once they for example connect their Metamask wallet to the game, users can register user names, buy wearables, or even acquire a land parcel.
