Telegram PvP game Taitiko Arena has been updated with the Tournaments feature, introducing daily and weekly competitions for players to compete in and earn various rewards.
The Tournaments feature has been introduced to Taitiko Arena on June 5, starting off with 2 formats: Freeroll Honor and Weekend Warriors.
Freeroll Honor is a Daily Tournament that uses a rotative format and lasts 6 hours. Players have to use Chips to enter this fast-paced format and can use 1 rebuy while fighting for a share of the Honor pool. With the Honor you earn from the daily competitions, you can use it to enter Weekend Warriors, a weekly tournament that runs for 24 hours and features a dynamic Honor pool based on the number of participants, alongside Rare, Epic, and Legendary Drops for players ranked from 11th to 100th. One rebuy can also be used this high-stakes weekend event, while the Drops earned can be used to redeem skins and rarer Drops from the in-game store.
With the launch of these competitions, players now have new ways to play and earn every week for free. The developers aren’t stopping here either, as they are planning on adding more tournament formats to enjoy and win prizes from, according to the initial X announcement thread. This week, the team posted a new tweet in which they teased that a new game mode and “surprises” are also coming soon.
Taitiko Arena is a free to play PvP game in which you play as cute capsule-shaped characters called Taitikos to win across numerous different mini-games by racking up high scores. It’s live on Telegram and is a part of the Taitiko gaming ecosystem, which is powered by the Solana-based $TTG token and is set to have another game plus its own NFT collection, with the latter set to launch potentially later this year.
Anyone can start playing this competitive title for free on mobile devices by simply accessing it through the game’s Telegram bot. You won’t need to set up any game account if you’re using Telegram already, so once you’re in, you’ll get to do the tutorial straight away to get to grips with the core game features.
In this web3 game, the goal is to collect as much Honor as you can. Honor is basically the game’s points system, and by accumulating Honor through gameplay, you will eventually be able to exchange these points for TON at some point later on, according to in-game info. According to the documentation however, you can already exchange Honor for $TTG tokens, but it looks like your account needs to be at least 21 days old to unlock the in-game wallet and withdraw function. The value of Honor, according to the same docs, is $0.026.
Everyone has their own Taitiko character that can be trained every day by tapping on it. Doing so will allow you to level up the training level. The training level affects your rewards, so the higher level you are, the better your rewards will be. When you complete daily training, you’ll receive a gift, which is stored in your inventory alongside other goodies such as Game Coins, Drops, and Power-ups.
Next to training, you can also customize your character with various cosmetic items, with some being special cosmetics that actually give you access to unique game modes and exclusive events. You can change the character’s skin, reactions, and background. Reactions include various animations and gestures such as dancing, while backgrounds are the wallpaper that’s shown behind wherever your Taitiko appears.
As you play, you will get to complete a variety of daily and weekly missions to earn rewards and exclusive items. When it comes to playing matches, aside from the newly-introduced Tournaments, you can also choose to play in Honor Battles and Chip Battles. You’ll want to start off in Chip Battles in order to warm up for the high-stakes Honor Battles where you compete to earn Honor coins, but also need to pay an entry fee in Honor to enter. You also need Chips for Chip Battles. How do you earn those? By doing quests that award Game Coins and Chips. There are social tasks as well as gameplay-focused missions, and simply logging in to the game lets you claim Chips and Game Coins from the Quests tab. You can also buy more Chips using Game Coins at the in-game shop. As for Honor, you can buy it using Telegram Stars, or earn it by competing in the newly-added Freeroll Honor daily tournament.
As for gameplay, it seems that you can currently choose to enjoy 3 different mini-games: Bomb Sequence, Jet Hero, and Balloon Shooter. Bomb Sequence has you defuse rapidly appearing bombs by tapping on them quickly before they blow up to try and get the highest score possible, while Jet Hero is essentially a Flappy Birds-style game mode in which you attempt to keep the jet in the air for as much as possible while avoiding obstacles and collecting coins along the way for a higher chance of winning the mini-game.
Overall, if you want to play to earn Honor that you will potentially be able to exchange to TON and $TTG, then this month’s introduction of Tournaments makes it the perfect time to jump into Taitiko Arena and to start honing your skills to be ready to top the leaderboards in daily and high-stakes weekly competitions.
