Cometh Announces Cosmik Battle Technical Alpha

Blockchain Web3 development platform Cometh has announced the Technical Alpha for Cosmik Battle, a sci-fi trading card game.

Technical Alpha Details

This early version of the Web3 card game will open on October 30th at 2 PM CET, pitting players in 1v1 space battles. Testing will last for 2 weeks, during which participants will get to experience the first playable version of the game, all while competing for exclusive rewards and taking part in a ‘special’ tournament. According to the announcement, the game builds on the foundation initially set in Cometh Battle by having players take on the role of space fighters who are competing to achieve the title of being the ultimate pilot of the universe. You will get to pick your spaceship and collect resources as you craft tradable cards to form a strong deck as well as trade with other players.

This alpha will take place on the testnet of Cometh’s own Ethereum-based chain; a Layer 3 that uses Arbitrum technology. The official post states that core Web3 features will be included, meaning you will be able to craft and earn Premium Cards. These NFT cards however will not be migrated to the mainnet, as they’re simply being used to make sure all smart contracts work properly before deploying to mainnet.

Rewards

By taking part in the Technical Alpha, you’ll be rewarded with the Alpha Explorer Cardback, an exclusive, limited-edition card back that will be airdropped to participants once the final version of the game officially launches.

Next to this, there will be a tournament with a “cool cash prize” but the team has stated more details on that will be revealed soon.

How to Participate

In order to take part in this test phase, you’ll have to either be a spaceship holder that signs up to the whitelist by logging in with your wallet and submitting your e-mail address  on the official website (rentals don’t count), or an OG Cometh Battle player who gets one of the limited spots available. Both whitelists should still be open at the time of writing before testing starts, with 200 Alpha slots available for those who played Cometh Battle but don’t own a ship. Cometh Battle players can fill out an Alpha Explorer Enlistment form by heading to the Alpha Central channel in the game’s official Discord server. If you don’t get a spot, which are given on a first come, first serve basis, you’ll be at the top of the waiting list for the Closed Beta, planned to take place sometime in November on mainnet.
