Bside Games will launch the closed beta for their online role playing game Chainmonsters at the beginning of December at the latest. The team will now distribute beta keys in the weeks to go through challenges and social media giveaways. Everybody who already had alpha access will get to play the beta as well.
The key to access the Chainmonsters closed beta isn't a code, but instead gamers will receive an NFT. This means that NFT owners can always sell their access key on the public market, even though it will be useless once the beta ends. Everybody who participated in the Alpha, Genesis sale, or has a FlowFest Adventure bundle, can join the closed beta.
The closed beta will allow players to participate in the game before Chainmonsters goes into open beta in 2022. Players can capture monsters, level them up, upgrade them and earn Season Pass rewards. All progress from the closed and open beta will persist into the full game launch.
Every player during Chainmonsters closed beta can unlock some free Season Pass tiers including a limited amount of NFTs. They can also optionally purchase the premium Season Pass that enables all tiers. This Season Pass will be free to those who were active in the Alpha or acquired the Genesis bundle.
Bside Games has licensed some shader technology to make their cartoony visuals pop even more. The new shader technology means to add more depth to the game visually, giving Chainmonsters a more distinctive style. The entire game world, all game characters and of course the battles can now be experience in 3D.
Bside Games is now adding new mechanics to the battles, including stamina (STA), ultimates, and special tactics based on the species of your mons. Stamina recovers at a certain rate, and the mons need stamina to perform their ultimate.
Furthermore, the early version of Chainmonsters had loading screens between the areas. This will change. Bside Games will implement a streaming system to preload an undiscovered area in the background. As a result players can walk around the 8 different regions or islands freely. Every island will become a massive level, ready to explore without interruptions.
Chainmonsters is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game inspired by classic games like The Legend of Zelda and Pokémon. It runs on PC and mobile devices. Players will be competing against each other. Every player is an agent working for a corporation. There’s a mysterious disease that makes all creatures more aggressive, and there’s a weird crystal in the world. Guess who needs to find out? But can players trust the corporation? Who knows.
Players will need to acquire all kinds of little monsters. Some of them can only be found in certain regions, others only for a limited time. These monsters come from different elements, nine in total. These are generally home to a certain island or region: pyro, hydro, nature, electro, air, cryo, geo, and crystal.
Each of those mons has several basic attributes: health points (HP), attack, defense, elemental attack, elemental defense, speed, and stamina points (SP). In addition, each mon has individual values for each stats, which means that mons can have different stats even though they look the same.
