OneUniverse, the developers of turn-based RPG Champions Arena have announced the start of Season 8, introducing 2 new Champions to the Web3 title part of the Gala Games ecosystem, with one representing darkness and corruption, while the other resembles light and redemption: Azazel and Bishop.

Azazel

Azazel is a fallen angel who used to be a champion of the Avatar Guardians before being exiled. Since then, she has studied the powers of the demons of Ka-Drax, adopting their fighting styles consisting of deep magic not many can muster.

With this new character, the damage she deals is based on the highest Attack among all party members instead of her own, according to the announcement. Using her normal attack will not only inflict damage on the enemy but also heal an ally who has the lowest HP, with a card match also leading to her gaining Mana.

Using her Spell Orb ability causes her to attack an enemy with higher damage, receiving Mana in the process. If it’s a card match, then a share of the damage will be used to heal an ally with lowest amount of HP.

Curse Explosion causes Crit Rate Down and deals damage to all enemies, with a card match providing a barrier to all allies. Last but not least, Pain Siphon is a Skill that causes the new Champion to fight back the moment an enemy blows a Critical Strike on your ally, with Azazel’s Turn Gauge also getting increased in this instance.

Bishop

Bishop is an exorcist out to seek vengeance using bullets on all evil he comes across after losing everything he had, his loved one, from a vampire.

His normal attack is your standard move, with a card match buffing the damage done when using this attack. A Critical Draw is similar, dealing even more damage with a card match.

Rumble Shuffle inflicts damage on a single enemy, with a card match activating the Overload buff, which gives the character added Crit Power for every debuff on an enemy. If the buff has already been activated, then an x2 multiplier to his Crit Power is given and lasts for the same amount of time.

As has previously been the case when new Champions are introduced, these two new additions also come with an increase of chance of getting summoned, and also enjoy a VP boost in battles. They can only be acquired through in-game summons, meaning that “the first to find them will be members of a very exclusive club, if only for a short time until more start to enter the fray!”
