Developer B-Side Games has announced that the demo for Chainmonsters is set to launch on October 4 this year.

Chainmonsters is a free-to-play monster taming MMORPG featuring a colorful 3D world with 161 unique upgradeable creatures to collect called Chainmons. Each of them differs not only visually but also by the abilities they have. Players can play for free and unlock free reward tiers as they progress through the game. There are various resources to collect and it will be possible to craft materials into NFTs stored on the Flow blockchain, a gas-free network.

There will be a story-based campaign in which players team up with N-Corp agents on a journey to uncovering a mysterious disease that is affecting the Chainmons. Aside from completing quests players can also take on various dungeons and raids together across the world of Ancora which features a dynamic day & night cycle as well as a weather system, all of which have an effect on tactical battles where players can create chain reactions by combining various different types of Chainmons. There will also be cross-platform play, allowing PC players on Steam and Android & iOS players to all enjoy the free-to-play title together.

According to the developer’s August development update, the demo that is planned to release on October 4 will include NFTs that will be given out through “a weekly raffle/leaderboard system.” It is also set to include “daily activities” in order to best test out various game features, such as PvP and daily quests. More details on the NFT giveaways will be revealed as the demo draws near.

Chainmonsters is set to launch on Steam as an Early Access title in February 2023.
