Cantina Royale has officially announced its integration into the BoomLand ecosystem, marking a new chapter for the popular tactical shooter game. The transition comes after a period of uncertainty following the tragic passing of Cantina Royale’s CEO, Alex, in June 2024, which left the game's future in question.

According to a joint statement released on March 31, 2025, BoomLand, the creators of the web3 title Hunters On-Chain, will now take over development of Cantina Royale. 

A Shared Passion and Vision

BoomLand noted that its team had long been fans of Cantina Royale, praising its polished mechanics, strong community, and competitive gameplay loop. When the Cantina Royale team reached a critical juncture in their development cycle—exacerbated by the loss of their CEO—discussions began on how to preserve the project’s value and momentum.

"This is the result of deep respect, strategic alignment, and a shared belief in what Cantina Royale can become," the companies stated.

What Players Can Expect

To facilitate the transition, Cantina Royale servers went offline starting March 28 at 13:00 UTC. 

When Cantina Royale returns, players can expect a revitalized experience, featuring gameplay improvements, broader community engagement, and more expansive opportunities to earn and compete. The goal is to merge Cantina Royale’s core strengths with BoomLand’s technical capabilities and user base.

In the meantime, Cantina Royale players are being encouraged to explore Hunters On-Chain, BoomLand’s flagship game. As part of the welcome, CR community members will be provided with BoomLand assets to help them get started in the new environment.

NFT and Token Migration Details

To ensure value retention for the existing Cantina Royale community, BoomLand has outlined two key mechanisms:

  • 1:1 NFT Swap: CR holders will be able to exchange their NFTs for BoomLand NFTs on a one-to-one basis. The swap will use a compatible rarity system to preserve in-game utility and value.
  • $BOOM Airdrop for $CRT Holders: Eligible players will receive 1 $BOOM token for every 7 $CRT held. The claim window for this airdrop will last for six months.

More detailed instructions and timelines for claiming and swapping will be released in the coming weeks.

Community Engagement and Support

To address community concerns and ensure a smooth transition, a dedicated communication channel has been set up. An AMA (Ask Me Anything) session will be hosted soon, where the BoomLand team will formally introduce themselves to the Cantina Royale player base and respond to questions about the integration process.

The announcement emphasized that both companies are committed to making this a seamless and rewarding transition for everyone involved.
