The Cantina Royale team has officially announced the public beta of the 2.0 version of the tactical arcade blockchain shooter.
In order to keep the current version of the game up and running, this testing phase can only be accessed using a guest account, letting you experience the new version through the eyes of a new player, which the developers state is an important of this launch because they are beginning to activate their “user acquisition channels.” As a result, any NFT characters you currently have cannot be used for this beta, requiring you to use the new free character classes instead, just like a new player would.
According to the announcement, this public beta is split into 2 stages. The first stage represents the early part of the game, that is, the part where players start from scratch and experience the early-game progression, while the second stage will be a separate beta with endgame content, set to begin shortly after the first stage is over.
For this first beta launch, the team has stated that the focus will be on testing gameplay, balance, and the new user experience, all of which are key elements that are “important to get right as we start onboarding new users and setting a baseline for our retention metrics.” This means that core gameplay, first time user experience funnel, balance of weapons, skills and perks, among other aspects, will be tested, while monetization and economy & progression balance will not.
There are no CRT earnings for this public beta, with all progress made during the beta set to be reset.
