The Sandbox is kicking off this month with the Quick Loop Game Jam, calling game developers of all experience levels to participate and build to earn up to 50k SAND tokens.
What Is The Sandbox’s Quick Loop Game Jam?
The Quick Loop Game Jam is a new creative game dev contest that challenges participants to create games with looping mechanics in The Sandbox by using the platform's own Game Maker software.
Specifically, this means making small games with simple but addicting mechanics that keep players continuously engaged and willing to keep coming back for more. It’s those games that are hard to put down, as you just want to make that one more turn or play one more round, but you end up going for multiple rounds instead and then oh, you realize that it’s way past your usual bed time. Whoops.
“Design games that hook players with simple mechanics and satisfying feedback, like lightning-fast reaction challenges, high-stakes bursts of decision-making, or endlessly replayable loops that reward skill, timing, or curiosity.”
If you have an idea and the time to make it, you should get started right now with bringing your game to life using the Game Maker, regardless of your coding experience. The Game Maker is an easy to use, no-coding game development tool that allows creators to develop metaverse experiences within the blockchain-powered voxel-based world without needing to have programming knowledge.
By participating, you have a chance to win from a total prize pool of 50k SAND tokens, 10 LANDs, and exclusive CATALYST Packs, with rewards distributed in the following way:
- 1st Place: 10,000 SAND + 1x1 LAND + Gold CATALYST Pack
- 2nd Place: 8,000 SAND + 1x1 LAND + Silver CATALYST Pack
- 3rd Place: 5,000 SAND + 1x1 LAND + Silver CATALYST Pack
- 4th Place: 4,000 SAND + 1x1 LAND + Silver CATALYST Pack
- 5th Place: 3,000 SAND + 1x1 LAND + Silver CATALYST Pack
- 6th–10th Place: 2,000 SAND + 1x1 LAND + Bronze CATALYST Pack
- Honorable Mentions (up to 10): 1,000 SAND
The first 100 valid entries will get a participation prize of 100 SAND tokens each, but anyone who ranks in the top 10 or the Honorable Mentions list will not qualify for participation rewards. Receiving prizes requires completing KYC verification. Here’s how you can participate for free!

You can optionally also use their NFT creator VoxEdit to set up your own custom voxel-based assets, or save up time by using the new Asset Libraries, which were introduced in Game Maker 0.11 to give developers a large and categorized selection of free Assets to choose from based on brand and environment type.
