Web3 game developer Bravo Ready has announced the release of a major update to BR1: Infinite, introducing Cash Drops to the blockchain-powered extraction shooter to enable new ways to play to earn in high-stakes matches every Wednesday. Here’s how it all works and how you can join in on the first matches with the new update starting this Wednesday, August 20.

What Is BR1: Infinite?

BR1: Infinite is a skill-based third-person extraction shooter in which players compete to earn real money by wagering in high-stakes matches and attempting to survive and extract with the collected loot based on kill to earn mechanics.

Players can choose from different risk modes determining the amount of money needed to be paid to enter and spawn in the match. You can choose to pay $0.10, $0.25, $1.00, and so on, going all the way up to $10 depending on which risk mode you choose. If you pay to enter the $1 mode, you have the chance to earn $1 for each player you take out, with the developers taking a percentage of player earnings. The more players you kill, the more rewards you earn. If you don’t want to risk it straight away and would instead prefer to get to grips with the game’s mechanics, you can then choose to opt into the Free-for-All mode first completely for free.

This intense shooter is powered by Solana and in development by developer Bravo Ready, who have raised $3 million back in 2022 to develop this extraction royale. It’s backed by PUBG developer and publisher Krafton, Twitch co-founder Justin Kan, Solana Ventures, Shima Capital, YGG SEA, Aptos, and more. You can wishlist it right now on the Epic Games Store where it is planned to launch in early access, but if you want to play and earn earlier, then you should hop into private beta playtests taking place every week.

This week marks the release of a major update: Cash Drops, and you can try it out this Wednesday. Let’s check it out!

What Is BR1: Infinite’s New Update: Cash Drops?

The latest new update introduces a big new feature to the pay-to-spawn title: Cash Drops. This means that players can now find free money scattered throughout the map. This money is paid for by a portion of the spawn fees, and they will automatically appear across the map for players to loot. Instead of just killing players to earn money, you can now find USD by looting around inside crates, drawers, lockers, boxes, chests, and so on. Previously, looting these objects was rewarded with weapons and ammo to help you survive and take down other players for more rewards. Now, those same locations can include Cash Drops, meaning that cash can now appear in your inventory. Once the time is up, extract as soon as you can to properly secure all that cash. If someone kills you though, they can loot your body and take all that cash from your inventory, so be sure to always be on your toes in order to hopefully walk away from the match with all that loot.

Next to this welcome new addition to the game to give players more ways to play to earn, the developers have added in new locations to battle in, as well as new Infinite Pass rewards to earn, such as NFT weapon skins. Progress through the season pass by playing matches in order to gain XP needed to level up and unlock various goodies.

Some weapon rebalancing has also been done for this update, making ARs, specifically Juliet 1.6 and BR-47, have similar damage and accuracy profiles, while BR-9 and Pitbull pistols have been buffed with a higher rate of fire. Bows have better accuracy now, making the Hunter 512 and BR-Bow even more useful for dealing long-range damage.

How to Play and Earn Cash Drops in BR1: Infinite

To play and earn Cash Drops in the private beta version of BR1: Infinite, you will have to join in on the game’s weekly playtests. To do so, create an account on the game’s official website using your email address, download the web3 title, and join the official Discord server of the READY! web3 gaming ecosystem to be notified of playtest schedules.

You may also need to secure a Beta Role in the game’s Discord server to be eligible to participate in weekly beta test sessions, so you should probably send a message in the server asking for the role to potentially get it, either for this first official week of the new feature, or at some point later on for a future playtest.

For this first week of Cash Drops, there will be 2 Kill Races to participate in, accommodating different time zones. The first starts on Wednesday, August 20 at 1 PM EST, while the second session is also on Wednesday, August 20, but at 8 PM EST. Both come with $200 prize pools each.

Kill Races are leaderboard-based tournaments that reward players with the highest amount of kills with a share of the event’s prize pool. According to the litepaper, there are daily, weekly, and monthly Kill Races, with the top 100 set to receive instant payouts in their game wallet.

In this case, it’s not stated how long these particular events will last. If you do participate and deposit funds to pay to spawn, the official Discord announcement states that you will be matched up to $20, only if the deposit is made before or during the event. Pre-event deposits are said to receive the 100% bonus right when the event starts, with the team set to check deposits every hour during the event to add any matching ones. Feel free to ping the game’s staff in the chat and they will add the matching bonus live.
