Pulsar, an upcoming AAA game on Avalanche, released its litepaper on August 8th. The document basically covers all you need to know about the project, including its game lore, P2E mechanics, tokenomics, roadmap, and game launch schedule. Let's dive in!
To begin with, Pulsar is a massively multiplayer online (MMO) game coupled with real-time strategy (RTS) elements. Developed by Twelve Random Words, the game allows players to mine, build, and fight in real-time battles to claim their dominance in the planetary system of Pulsar.
Meet $PLSR - the main token of the Pulsar ecosystem and the most sought-after resource in the game. In essence, players will extract various amounts of raw Pulsars across four different types of NFT lands or Biomes. Then cash out by converting them into $PLSR tokens in the Refineries.
Other than that, there are other useful resources available in lands and slain aliens. Players can refine these resources to obtain on-chain tokens like $GAS, which can be used to craft NFTs or traded openly in the marketplace.
If you don't want to be a miner, you can choose to become a landholder instead. As a landowner, you can tax all Pulsar players that extract Resources or sell NFTs built on your land in $PLSR.
Make no mistake, the game will be free to play at launch. According to the litepaper, anyone can craft on-chain assets and enjoy the full Pulsar experience for free.
Looking at the roadmap, the team will give away Team Alpha Badges to 10 users in August, granting them access to the Alpha version of Pulsar. The same badge holders will also receive Beta Passes to play the game's Beta build.
This month, Pulsar is expected to launch into Public Beta as well. So keep an eye out for that. By December 2022, the team will launch the full PvE game, followed by the PvP game in the 1st half of 2023.
