The 3rd edition of the Time’s End Blog is now live, providing us with a recap of the latest development progress made by the Big Time team for the blockchain action RPG.
In case you’ve been out of the loop, it’s been an eventful time for the past month or so for the well-known Web3 title. The developers have launched patch 0.27 near the end of August, bringing a considerable rework to early game progression while including various welcome bug fixes, cool new abilities, and a new quest line. More recently, the team announced a preseason is coming soon, though existing pass holders should already be able to access to it and enjoy new Adventure instances, new abilities, and more.
Now, let’s move on to some cool new development updates that the studio has shared in their latest blog post.
The developers have provided various sneak peeks on a myriad of goodies they’ve been working on lately. This includes NFT animations, which means that you’ll soon be able to see animated GIFs of digital assets in the Open Loot marketplace, giving you a better idea of what an item looks like in the game itself.
Another significant addition to Open Loot is the rental feature that’s making its way to the upcoming preseason. With this feature, owners of assets they don’t currently need will be able to rent them out to other players who’d like to try them out for a cheaper rental fee. This way, you don’t have to sell your NFT, but you can still passively earn from it. The rental duration is fixed to 30 days and is auto-renewable.
With the launch of the preseason, 3 currencies will officially go live: Time Crystals, Cosmetic Shards, and $BIGTIME.
Time Crystals is a non-blockchain, non-tradable premium currency gained through in-game drops or by directly buying it, while Cosmetic Shards is an Open Loot in-game currency you can purchase from other players. It’s not a cryptocurrency, and is also awarded through in-game drops. $BIGTIME on the other hand, is a cryptocurrency that is attainable through in-game drops by having an Hourglass NFT equipped. As a result of its nature, players have the option of depositing and withdrawing it.
Speaking of deposits and withdrawals, the team has also revealed that with the start of the preseason, NFT deposits and withdrawals will be enabled on Open Loot, allowing users to make bulk transactions, use various different wallets, and easily view their Open Loot wallet transaction history.
Last but not least, we got some sneak peeks for some of the weapons you’ll be able to craft in preseason, as seen above, though visuals may still be subject to change.
