Axie Infinity Origins Kicks Off Season 7 With Introduction of Collectible Leaderboards & More

Competitive tactical thrills are back at the forefront of Web3 title Axie Infinity Origins with the start of Season 7, which comes with a couple of new additions to enhance the experience.

Season Details

This 7th season will run for 49 days, with the 7 weeks divided into Rare, Epic, Mystic, and Final eras. Each last 2 weeks, except for the Final one which takes place over the course of one week, with the season ending with an Elite 8 Tournament through which the winner of this season will be officially declared.

The new season introduces Collectible Leaderboards, as well as a new Hybrid Leaderboard system alongside new items in the Origins Shop, higher AXP emissions, and various crafting and balancing updates.

Collectible Leaderboards

This new experimental system is designed to reward the most dedicated collectors of Collectible axies, and as such comes with its own prize pool of 4000 AXS tokens. To climb this leaderboard, you need to play Arena matches with Collectible axies, and have Stamina while doing so in order to gain points for winning ranked matches. The rank you’re at and the rarity of axies used to play with will determine whether or not you get points, as well as the quantity you will earn.

Hybrid Leaderboard System

A Hybrid Leaderboard reward system is in place that introduces SLP to the prize pool alongside AXS, while expanding leaderboard spots to the top 20k. The official announcement states around $641k worth of AXS and SLP will be distributed.

New Items

The Origins Shop welcomes a completely new item to its store: the AXP Booster. With this consumable, which comes in 3 different variants that differ in duration, you will be able to increase your axie team’s AXP gain by 40%, with collectible axies getting an flat bonus as shown in the below image.

Next to AXP Boosters, the Origins Shop will soon be getting Runes and Charm boxes. These are basically mystery boxes that contain random Runes and Charms, and will be purchasable using Gems. The official post states that players will be able to buy these boxes in the middle of each era.
