Axie Infinity has integrated decentralized price feeds and the verifiable randomness function from Chainlink into its gaming universe. This will provide provably fair elements in Lunacia, starting with the Axie Origin Coins (AOC). Every new Origin Axie will be provably random and is therefore created in the most honest way possible.
The first step of the integration is the integration of the Chainlink ETH/USD price feed into the Axie marketplace. This is a way to provide users with the most accurate price possible, while in addition a pricing in USD is easier for newcomers to understand.
The second step will have more impact on the current community. Chainlink's VRF will generate new Origin Axies when someone uses five Axie Origin Coins. The number of Origin Axies is capped at 4088, and when an Origin Axie is born they have a chance of obtaining Mystic parts. These have proven to be quite valuable on the open market. Chainlink's VRF system will make sure the randomness is truly random and honest.
The integration of Chainlink into the Axie Infinity universe doesn't end with Origin Axies. Once the Ethereum sidechain Ronin is live, the VRF smart contract will likely be integrated into more smart contracts. Chainlinks uses all kinds of off-chain API data, and that could very well add fun dimensions to Axie Infinity. Imagine the in-game weather in Lunacia changing on real-world weather data. Or the amount of available resources changing on real world traffic on the highway. It's just an idea.
Integrating Chainlink is just one of many new things happening around Axie Infinity lately. The developers recently announced their governance token AXS, which has seen big increases in value on Binance.
Gamers can now trade both the governance token AXS and the in-game utility token SLP on Uniswap and Binance. In addition the developers will also be working towards community governance. For the current 13th Season of Axie Infinity, they have partnered with Aave.
Axie Infinity is a tactical battle game in which two players fight each other using a team of cute creatures called Axies. These little weird balls of joy live in a world called Lunacia, and they come in all kinds of shapes in sizes. Their characteristics influence which moves they are capable of performing. They can be damage dealers, healers, or bad ass tanks.
Axies are deadly cute, that is an undeniable truth. But Axies are not only just cute, their appearance are almost unique. It is difficult to find two look-alike Axies since their body parts have various forms and shapes. There are more than 500 Axie’s body parts. Axies’ body and parts are classified into classes including Beast, Plant, Bug, Bird, Reptile and Aquatic, and more in future release. Moreover, the parts also come with four levels of rarity, which are Common, Rare, Ultra Rare, Legendary.
It is the battle system that makes Axie Infinity stand out. Axies will take turn to fight in a 3v3 battle. The Axies fight for their own will, but to win the victory, players need to a real strategist, from wisely choosing appropriate Axies for their team to placing them at the tactical positions. Soon the team will introduce land gameplay, their AXS governance token and there’s probably a lot more waiting beyond the horizon.
