Avalanche Battle Pass Season 2 is officially live for the next 30 days, giving players a fresh chance to complete missions, earn exclusive in-game rewards, and take part in a $25K prize pool event. This time, there's no need to mint anything on Magic Eden. Just head to Playfull.com, sign up, and you'll immediately receive the free Basic Pass.

The 2nd season of this Avalanche-wide event comes with key upgrades to how players complete tasks, earn points, and select their rewards. Playfull, the platform behind the battle pass, has also added major improvements to user flow, mission variety, and reward tracking.

2 tiers of passes are available in Avalanche Battle Pass Season 2

How To Start Season 2

To begin, players must create an account on Playfull and connect their MetaMask wallet. This step lets the platform track your mission progress and send you the right rewards. Players are also encouraged to link their Steam, Epic Games, Twitter, and Discord accounts, since certain missions require account verification.

Once set up, you'll automatically receive the free Basic Pass. From there, players can level up by completing different kinds of missions. These include gameplay challenges as well as social engagement tasks.

A Premium Pass can be bought at any time for 0.5 AVAX or $10. This gives access to an extra row of exclusive rewards not available to Basic Pass users.

Play Games, Earn Rewards

The core of the Battle Pass remains the same: complete missions to earn experience and unlock new rewards.

Games featured in Season 2 include returning titles like Off The Grid, Rumble Arcade, Fundora, DeFi Kingdoms, and Spellborne. New additions include Super Champs, BloodLoop, and Black Hole DEX, expanding the number of games tied to the mission pool.

Each mission rewards you with either Playpoints or Snowflakes, depending on the type of task and your current pass level. Playpoints are the currency used across the Playfull platform. Snowflakes, on the other hand, act as raffle entries for the end-of-season prize pool.

Snowflakes: Your Key to $25,000+ in Rewards

Snowflakes are back this season with more weight than before. These icy tokens are earned by completing specific missions and reaching certain levels in the pass. Every Snowflake counts as one entry into a massive end-of-season raffle that includes over $25,000 worth of rewards.

These include a mix of AVAX tokens, rare collectibles, and even physical items like Pokémon cards through BOXED TCG. The more Snowflakes you gather during the season, the better your odds in the final drawing.

New Salvage System: Your Rewards, Your Choice

Season 2 includes a new system that lets players skip unwanted rewards. Now, when you unlock a level in the pass, you can choose between Collecting the reward or Salvaging it for Playpoints. This helps players avoid filling their inventory with items they don't need, while still making progress toward more valuable rewards.

The Shop and Salvage system adds a layer of flexibility that was missing in the first season. It also makes it easier to stack Playpoints and spend them on specific items through the new AVAX Shop.

The AVAX Shop

The Playfull platform now features an improved AVAX Shop. Here, you can use your Playpoints or Snowflakes to buy Premium Pass upgrades, in-game NFTs, and rare skins.

Available items include the Avalanche Premium Pass, BP Boosts, and collectibles like the Luxury Cape NFT, Token Tiara NFT, and Totem-Mask NFT. A BP Boost costs just 50 Snowflakes, making it an easy pickup. Exclusive NFTs, however, are priced at 2,400 Playpoints or higher, so you'll need to stack up more points if you're aiming for those premium items.

Streamlined Onboarding and Better UI

Signing in is now easier thanks to the new "Sign in with Playfull" feature, which lets users quickly link accounts and wallets in one step. The system replaces the older, slower onboarding process used during Season 1.

The updated interface also improves how players view their mission progress, manage rewards, and switch between different tabs like Missions, Shop, and Leaderboard. This helps players find what they need quickly, without getting lost.

Avalanche Battle Pass Season 2 missions

Mission Categories: Game vs Social

Missions are split into 2 main categories: Game and Social.

Game missions focus on gameplay tasks, like downloading and playing Off The Grid or connecting to games like Fundora and DeFi Kingdoms. These tasks often reward you with larger amounts of Battle Points (BP).

Social missions, meanwhile, ask you to complete actions like joining Discord servers, watching YouTube videos, or following game accounts. While these tend to give fewer points, they are much quicker to complete and can help new users level up faster.

Players can find these missions in the Missions tab, with Game and Social sections clearly marked at the top.

Boost Your Progress with Premium and BP

If you're looking to reach the higher tiers of the battle pass, buying the Premium Pass or using a BP Boost could speed things up. The Premium Pass opens a second row of rewards, including higher-value items, while the BP Boost lets you jump ahead in your level progression.

BP Boosts are available in the shop and cost 50 Snowflakes. If you're collecting snowflakes steadily, buying a boost can help you reach deeper levels in the pass without grinding as much.

Season Timeline and Prize Structure

The season runs for 30 days starting today, August 20. During this period, players must complete missions, collect Snowflakes, and spend their Playpoints if they want to get the most out of the season.

Once the timer ends, the final raffle will be drawn using Snowflakes as entries. Winners can expect prizes in the form of:

  • AVAX tokens
  • Rare NFTs and in-game items
  • Pokémon cards from BOXED TCG
  • Exclusive content from Avalanche-partnered games

Players are not required to claim their raffle entries: every Snowflake is automatically submitted.

Recap of Season 1

The first season of Avalanche Battle Pass launched in June and required players to mint a free NFT on Magic Eden to get started. Rewards included AVAX tokens and NFTs from Avalanche games like Spellborne and Off The Grid. While the format was similar, Season 2 removes the NFT minting step and replaces it with direct access via Playfull.

This change streamlines access and lowers the barrier for new users. It also shows how the program is making it easier for players to get started and earn rewards without needing a crypto background.

Players can still use the same Playfull account they created during Season 1 to join the new event. Just visit the Playfull.com Battle Pass page, connect your wallet, and start grinding Avalanche Battle Pass Season 2.
