On-chain social gaming platform Andrometa has announced the successful closing of their seed round, with the investment set to help the ecosystem with their goal of merging on-chain innovation with traditional gaming.
The entire seed round is said to have been taken by Moon Pursuit Capital, while the exact funding involved does not seem to have been publicly disclosed. Based on the video embedded in the official X announcement, the investment firm is likely receiving a certain amount of the upcoming $SHRD token, an ecosystem token that is set to launch in Q2 2025 with plans to be used for premium game asset purchases, marketplace trading, staking, live game prediction markets, and more, according to the tokenomics section of the platform’s whitepaper. The same announcement also teases that a strategic round is set to take place at some point in the future.
Andrometa is a multi-genre gaming ecosystem, Nintendo publisher, and social gaming platform that is set in an anime-themed universe to combine immersive gaming and 3D VTubing with digital asset trading. Players can create, play, and stream games while utilizing 3D avatar models and patent pending AI motion capture technology for a unique blend of blockchain gaming and content creation. Avatars can be used both for VTubing content but also for in-game battles, with advanced AI motion capture technology featuring full-body tracking that is said to drastically lower VTubing cost and complexity by up to 95%.
If you want to play and go virtual livestreaming as a 3D avatar on multiple platforms simultaneously using just a laptop camera, then you can try out the tech called AniMee for free in the form of a demo that can be accessed through the platform’s official website, where you also have an option to sign up for a chance at being enrolled in the alpha version of their flagship VTuber platform. According to the roadmap included in the whitepaper, a beta release of AniMee is planned to take place at some point during Q2 2025.
In the meantime, anime fans can also enjoy reading two mangas, OutKast Origins Volume 1 and The Se7ens Volume 1, while playing a free to play mobile game called SWRMS.
SWRMS is a free to play third-person roguelite mobile game in which you dash and slash your way through waves of enemies to complete missions in a stylish sci-fi anime world. Enjoy fast-paced roguelite gameplay as one of many different heroes from the Andrometa ecosystem’s manga collections while leveling up and earning various resources to craft useful gear. Collect and unlock rare crafting materials, celestial blueprints, weapon components, and ancient cosmic materials as you battle your way through the increasingly-challenging Crucible in order to craft varied weapons, armor, and gear that can be traded in the in-game P2P marketplace. By trading crafted items, you get to earn Andros, an in-game currency that can be burned to receive the upcoming $SHRD token.
SWRMS is playable for free on both Android and iOS devices by downloading the web3 game on the Play Store or App Store respectively. Earlier this year, Andrometa hosted the SWRMS Open Playtest, during which players got to play to airdrop from a prize pool of 2.5 million $SHRD tokens. The developers plan on launching SWRMS in early access on the Nintendo Switch at some point in Q2 this year, while the game’s full, worldwide release is planned to take place in Q4, when 20 games could end up being onboarded to the Andrometa ecosystem.
