An Introduction to Battlestar Galactica Eternity

Though we already learned this past summer that the secretive ' Project Saturn' project from Gala Games was actually an official, Battlestar Galactica game, we didn't have a lot of information about the game. That is still true, but now we know a little bit more! As well, this game, officially known as Battlestar Galactica Eternity, now has its own website.

Battlestar Galactica Eternity is a multiplayer, 4x strategy game in development on the Gala Games ecosystem. Built by a team known as Revolving Games, this game takes place in the same universe as the Battlestar Galactica series reboot that ran from 2003-2009.

In this universe, humans have expanded into the cosmos and now inhabit a series of worlds known as the Twelve Colonies. However, Cylons, a sentient, robotic people that were originally created by humans, now seek to destroy the human race!

The game setting sees players as part of a group of humans, seeking to reclaim their planets after a surprise Cylon attack on the Twelve Colonies. Battlestar Galactica Eternity is a semi-cooperative PvE Game with seasonal leaderboards. Players use their ships and crew to defeat Cylon threats, form alliances for larger assaults, and try to rebuild human civilization.

Battlestar Galactica Eternity Gameplay

The game runs in seasons. Each new season sees the players rebuilding from the ruins after devastating attacks from the Cylons. Players begin the game near one of the ruined Twelve Colonies and are divided into Factions. Each Faction represents one of the Twelve Colonies. Each Faction will also have some sort of unique bonuses, setting a different, preferred playstyle for each.

Players then must harvest resources, rebuild their base, and expand their territory. But no one can do it all alone. Working together with other players and your Faction will be an important key to success. Certain important Cylon bases will be marked as season goals. Defeating these targets requires the efforts and coordination of many players, and perhaps even many alliances of players!

Each season will feature individual and alliance leaderboards. These show which players and Factions have done the most to repel the threats and build a safe place for humans. To keep things fresh, the team promises that the results of the resets at the end of the seasons will be slightly different, forcing players to adapt and change their strategies.

Battlestar Galactica Eternity will feature Ships and Officers as NFTs. Owning NFTs is not a requirement to play, and players will even have chances to earn NFTs through gameplay. Expect to see more information about the game over the next few months.
