Alpaca Finance, one of the largest lending protocols on the BNB Chain and Fantom, have announced their very own Web3 RPG: Immortal Wars: Alpies Game.
Immortal Wars is a team battler RPG where players form a squad of varied upgradable characters called Champions in order to engage in real-time combat in PvP and PvE. As you upgrade your Champions, you get to not only customize their equipment, but also pick which abilities they should bring into battle.
The game’s real-time combat features advanced physics and allows you switch between simple and advanced control mechanics, meaning players looking for a more casual experience can choose to have the game auto-target enemies whenever you click to cast abilities. If you’d like to have more control, then you can use manual drag-and-drop targeting in order to maximize the team’s efficiency and successfully pull off your strategy.
The game features two modes: a single-player PvE campaign, and a PvP mode. In the former, you get to explore the game’s world as you make your way through various stages across different chapters, earning rewards that can be used to upgrade your characters, which in turn not only helps you make your way through the story, but also makes your team stronger for PvP. In PvP, you get to battle against other players for rewards in an effort to become one of the highest-ranking players.
These are some of the core systems available in the game’s first launch phase, Soft Launch 1.
As of writing, a limited number of players have access to the game’s first phase, Soft Launch 1, which represents the alpha version, or Technical Test, of the Web3 title.
In the coming weeks, the developers plan to move into Soft Launch 2, where anyone who owns 3 Alpies or more will be able to access the game. This phase might last “for several months or even longer.” By being an Alpies NFT holder, players might gain benefits such as bonuses to rewards, an exclusive Legendary Alpaca Champion, and more.
After that, the team plans on doing the Global Launch for Android devices, planned to take place in January or February of 2024. Depending on how positive the soft launch data is, an iOS version might make its way in the future, and eventually a PC one as well for cross-platform gameplay.
The developers are focused on creating a “high-quality game using traditional mechanics,” and should the core game itself prove successful, the team will then look to add Web3 mechanics later after Global Launch.
