Age of Rust Announced Million Dollar Crypto Puzzle

Age of Rust is launching its first season on March 19th, and players will be able to solve crypto puzzles and find almost one million dollars worth of prizes. Space Pirates Games has hidden 370 thousand ENJ tokens and 24 bitcoin throughout their game, waiting to be found by players who love solving riddles.

Players will compete over a share of a 20 BTC bounty during three seasons of content, and this would be the first step towards that huge reward. In addition this first season is a continuation of the early version of the game, which offers a 4 BTC prize. There will also be three CryptoSkull keys, which each contain 10.000 ENJ. All the other ENJ prizes are hidden in different puzzles, and some of those puzzles require certain items to solve or gain access. The total value of the bitcoin prices is currently 822 thousand dollars, while the ENJ tokens are worth almost 153 thousand dollars.

The developers have hidden these crypto prizes across different virtual locations, like for example abandoned space stations, ancient ruins and mysterious caverns on alien planets. Players need to solve puzzles, to gain access to puzzle pieces solving other puzzles.

Actually, this isn't even the full launch of the game. Season 1 will serve as a beta test. Space Pirates Games will make the game available through Steam, and players are now able to add Age of Rust to their wish lists. Age of Rust will cost 15 dollars when it launches in two months.

Age of Rust and Enjin

The beta for season 1 wouldn’t be the first playable version of Age of Rust. Last year SpacePirate Games released a pre-alpha demo. This version already allowed players to link their Enjin wallet and unlock content when they owned certain digital assets. That way a non-fungible token can open doors to new areas in the game.

Age of Rust can be played without using the blockchain. However, having digital assets in your Enjin wallet can add more to the experience. For example, if you own a nanobot, it will allow you to unlock certain locks. The nanobot will enable you to pilot a little nano-spider through a procedurally-generated maze. When successful, the lock will unlock itself and the players gains access to a new area.

Age of Rust is actually quite difficult to place into one category. The blockchain-powered game has third person action segments, but also embraces hardcore puzzles. It’s a bit like Firewatch meets Tomb Raider meets Myst in a sci-fi universe.

Enjin metaverse

Age of Rust is one of the games in the Enjin metaverse. Enjin is a blockchain company that offers gaming services on the Ethereum blockchain. They launched the ERC1155 protocol, which enables developers to create every type of asset, from currency and real estate to digital art and gaming items. Ownership over these items is stored on the blockchain.

Games within the Enjin metaverse often add a bit of interoperability. For example, a wooden sword in Enjincraft can also be used as a sword in a certain role playing game. The entire ecosystem showed off the potential of interoperability by creating a quest throughout multiple games.

During the final months of 2020 more games have embraced the Enjin platform. We've seen games like The Galaxy of LemuriaCrystals of FateCede and Wavelings joining the ecosystem.
