Rarity Farming is back, and this time it's happening on Base. AavegotchiDAO has officially launched Season 11 of its popular play to earn event, and it's already live as of this week. This season brings major changes, the biggest of which is that it's the first one hosted fully on the Base network. The DAO has also committed a huge 3 million GHST across two seasons, with Season 11 now underway and Season 12 already confirmed for later this year.

Players and collectors across the Gotchiverse are already suiting up their Gotchis to climb the leaderboards in pursuit of serious GHST rewards.

About Aavegotchi's Rarity Farming Season 11

Rarity Farming is one of Aavegotchi's most engaging features. It rewards players based on how rare, loved, and experienced their Aavegotchis are. This season is especially important because it marks the full move to Base, which makes entry cheaper, faster, and smoother. It also opens the game to more people who want to earn by simply playing and taking care of their Gotchis.

How Much GHST Is on the Line?

A massive 1.5 million GHST (roughly $690K in value) is being given out over the course of Season 11. These rewards are split into 4 rounds, each lasting two weeks. At the end of each round, the top Gotchis on the three leaderboards (Rarity Score, Kinship, and XP) will earn their share of the prize pool.

In total, 50% of the rewards are allocated for Rarity, 20% for Kinship, and 10% for XP. Another 20% is set aside for Gotchi Battler, the auto-battler game that ties into your Aavegotchi's traits.

When Are the Snapshots?

The 4 snapshot dates for Season 11 are already locked in:

  • September 8, 2025 at 2:00 PM UTC
  • September 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM UTC
  • October 6, 2025 at 2:00 PM UTC
  • October 20, 2025 at 2:00 PM UTC

These snapshots determine the rewards for each round. After each one, GHST is distributed directly to the Aavegotchi's escrow, and players can check their earnings through the inventory section at aavegotchi.com.

Who Can Join?

Each leaderboard is limited to the top 7500 Aavegotchis based on their respective scores. These leaderboards track BRS (Base Rarity Score), Kinship, and XP. If you don't own a Gotchi, you can still take part by using Aavegotchi's lending system. This lets you borrow a Gotchi and share the rewards with its owner.

Also, a key update for this season is that Aavegotchis on the Base network can now compete for all reward types: BRS, Kinship, and XP. That means Base users have full access to the leaderboard rewards, with no limits.

What's the Structure of Season 11?

The season is split into 4 rounds, each two weeks long. At the end of each round, a snapshot is taken to record standings, and rewards are handed out shortly after. This makes each two-week block a mini-competition, keeping things exciting and giving players multiple chances to climb the ranks and cash in.

Aavegotchis that rank highly also get exclusive NFT badges and trophies designed by Xibot, the original artist behind the game. These rewards are non-transferable and sit on your Gotchi permanently, acting as onchain proof of past glory.

How Do the Leaderboards Work?

Each leaderboard tracks a different way to play. You can focus on one or go for all three.

What's Rarity Farming?

Rarity Farming is all about optimizing your Aavegotchi's rarity score. That starts with the traits your Gotchi is born with, but it doesn't stop there. You can boost this score by equipping Wearables, using matching Wearable sets, and leveling up your Aavegotchi to shift its stats. There's even a bonus from the aging mechanic, which changes traits as your Gotchi gets older.

This leaderboard holds the biggest rewards: half of the prize pool.

How Does Kinship Work?

Kinship measures how much attention you give your Gotchi. Pet it twice a day, every 12 hours, and its kinship score will go up. Miss a day, and the score drops. You can also boost kinship using potions. This is the most hands-on leaderboard, perfect for players who enjoy checking in often.

What About XP?

XP is all about being active in the community. You earn XP by voting in DAO proposals, attending community calls, and playing new games like Gotchi Guardians. These activities help your Aavegotchi gain experience and climb the leaderboard.

Even if your Gotchi isn't super rare or deeply loved, you can still earn XP by staying engaged.

What Is Gotchi Battler?

Gotchi Battler is an auto-battler game that uses each Aavegotchi's onchain traits to determine performance in battle. After Season 11's main leaderboards finish, a new Gotchi Battler tournament will begin with a prize pool of 300,000 GHST.

Players form teams of 5 Aavegotchis and enter double-elimination tournaments where strategy and squad composition play a key role. If you don't own 5 Gotchis, you can borrow extras using the game's lending system to complete your squad. Once registered, your team automatically advances through the tournament rounds, and results are based on your Gotchis' traits and setup.

All battles can be viewed through the official Gotchi Battler platform, where daily matchups keep the competition going strong.

How Is GHST Distributed?

Once a round ends, GHST rewards are sent directly to each Aavegotchi's smart contract escrow. You can view and claim these funds by visiting the "My Inventory" section of the Aavegotchi site. There's no need for a middleman. Everything runs fully onchain.

Migration to Base

Back in April, the Aavegotchi community voted in favor of moving the entire ecosystem from Polygon to Base, with 93.5% backing the proposal.

Since July, all smart contracts on Polygon have been frozen, and every in-game asset, including Gotchis, Wearables, and land parcels, is being cloned and re-minted on Base. The migration removes the need for Aavegotchi's old L3 chain, Geist, and simplifies onboarding for new players by focusing on a single, fast, Coinbase-backed network.

The switch to Base is already opening doors to a wider player base. With two full seasons of Rarity Farming confirmed and a prize pool of 3 million GHST, Aavegotchi is looking to make the most of its fresh start on Base.

Can I Still Join Season 11?

Yes. Even though the season started on August 25, there's still time to get in. The first snapshot isn't until September 8. That gives new players almost two weeks to get ready, level up their Gotchis, and compete for rewards.

Head over to aavegotchi.com to check the leaderboard and see how your Gotchis are doing. Make sure to stay active, suit up your squad, and don't miss a snapshot. Every two weeks is a new chance to win.

With over $690K in rewards this season and another 1.5 million GHST already confirmed for Season 12, the Rarity Farming competition is more intense than ever. Get your Gotchis ready and let the farming begin.
