SmithyDAO operates on the TreasureDAO ecosystem and is built on the Arbitrum network. At the core, it's a Web2 and Web3 game where players interact with a dark fantasy world called Smithonia. Categorized as a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA), the game also includes mining and has a native NFT collection. Centered around dark fantasy stories, the game is free to play with options to purchase in-app elements with $Smithy Gold Coins (SGC).
In the expanding Smithonia universe, players will interact with several existing elements and new ones will continue to arrive. Players engage in PvP battles to win $SGC and additional resources, plus gather fame. They fight in the Training Grounds, a battle arena that can be used to develop fighting skills, test weapons and armor, and use NFTs.
New and existing players can join server lobbies before the match starts, where they form two teams of 3 players each. Every match must have 6 players, and each match will last for 6 minutes. Points accumulate for killing opponent players and monsters in the arena. Consequently, the team with the most points or the one to eliminate all members of the other team wins.
Firestone Mine is a single-player interactive staking game where players participate to get their hands on the Primal Rock, which is the most valuable resource here. To participate in the gold rush for mining the resource, players must first buy Pickaxe NFTs. Every Pickaxe NFT translates to adding one goblin worker in the mine. Moreover, the type of NFT bought represents the employment or the skill level of the miner. These pickaxes will help mine Primal Rocks, which can be used for crafting and upgrading different assets. Otherwise, Primal Rocks can also be sold at the mine store.
To get started, Smithonia encourages new players to start by connecting on social media platforms like Twitter and Discord, where updates, quests, and community engagement occur. Players also need to integrate with the Ethereum Rollup Chain, Arbitrum, to access the game's blockchain elements, requiring them to bridge Ethereum to this network. In other words, to interact with blockchain-based aspects of the game, users must have Ethereum, which is transferred to the Arbitrum network through the bridge.
After setting up their blockchain connections, players can purchase essential NFTs such as Living Weapons and Pickaxes using $MAGIC tokens. This setup allows players to begin their adventure, starting with minting a Pickaxe and exploring significant game areas like Firestone Mine.
$SGC is the native cryptocurrency, but since it's still under development. Until the time $SGC launches, $MAGIC is the currency cryptocurrency tokens players can use to buy NFTs. It's important to buy an NFT in the form of a smithy weapon, pickaxe, or a legacy pass from TreasureDAO Trove to join the adventure.
Smithonia is built on an expansive lore focusing on a universe full of riches. In addition to battling in the Training Grounds, players can participate in additional in-game activities like Staking Quests.
Staking quests are special activities where players are supposed to stake their NFTs and complete various challenges to win prizes. While still under development, once launched, these quests will create an additional source of income for players as winners of quests will receive $SGC tokens, resources, and loot boxes.
The game integrates a hybrid economy combining in-game resources with global cryptocurrency, centered around the $MAGIC token. Players start with seven basic wooden weapons—Dagger, Axe, Warhammer, Bow, Sword, Wand, and Staff. Through regular play and gathering crafting materials, these weapons can be upgraded to legendary levels, rewarding players for their commitment and skill.
In addition to quests, the gameplay includes Well of Coins, which offers daily rewards as players draw $SGC coins from the well. The number of tokens drawn might be less, but it can turn into a small, steady income when done every day.
SmithyDAO has several forms of NFTs, some of which, like weapons, pickaxe, and legacy passes, are available now. The Smithonians category of NFTs will launch later this year. All NFTs, like any other good play-to-earn project, are secured and verified on the blockchain.
Until the time SmithyDAO’s in-house marketplace is being built, users can buy NFTs from TreasureDAO. Right now, NFTs are bought with $MAGIC, but later, the native cryptocurrency for transactions will be $SGC.

SmithuDAO has a rather big NFT ecosystem wherein users can stake them to earn rewards, participate in quests, and achieve different effects. The reward depends on the type of NFTs staked. For instance, staking legacy pass NFTs will earn $SGC; similarly, staking Pickaxe NFTs will generate resources required by players to traverse through the Smithonian universe.
Since the native cryptocurrency $SCG is yet to be launched, there isn’t much information available on its tokenomics. But stay tuned to know about the same as soon as it’s shared by the development team.
As of July 31st, the "Smithonia" project has progressed through several key stages. Starting with the MOBA Alpha Stage in Q1, the team moved on to Weapon Upgrading and introduced the Pickaxe Mint. By Q2, they enhanced gameplay with Legacy Pass and Loot Chests and developed Shop Systems and Gold Tokens.
Currently, in Q3, they're focusing on a User Loyalty System and adding new quests and characters. The final quarter, Q4, will see the MOBA WebGL Release, hosting of tournaments, and the launch of Steam and Epic Games, significantly expanding its reach and player engagement.
