More than 75 percent of the players of Nine Chronicles participated in crypto mining. They generated a total of 1.7 million NCG during the closed beta phase. In total 226 players from around the globe played the closed beta of the blockchain-powered role playing game Nine Chronicles. The game studio revealed these numbers on Monday.
Nine Chronicles is an upcoming blockchain game that uses its very own blockchain and also introduces its own crypto. Every player who downloads the game, is able to contribute to the network. This participation is done by supplying computing power, also known as mining. The acquired NCG can be used in-game. The game uses the blockchain network to register item ownership, item transfers and even gameplay choices.
During the closed beta there was lots of emphasis on the creation and upgrading of items. According to the game studio the user retention was comparable to a top 25% game on the Android or iOS marketplace. More than ten percent of that played the game continuously over the course of the 20-day testing period. Each of the players fought an average of 139 battles, while crafting 33 items and using the marketplace six times.
Starting from September 2nd, the second and final pre-sale will start. During the pre-sale gamers can buy in-game currencies (NCG) that will be used for crafting, governance and market trading inside the game. Nine Chronicles will launch its mainnet in September. They expect a mobile version of the game in 2021.
Nine Chronicles is an idle role playing game in which players need to combat enemies, defeat bosses, create weapons, gather resources and brew potions. This blockchain game runs on its own private blockchain and uses that to store all gameplay choices and ownership over digital assets.
The developers promote Nine Chronicles as a ‘fully decentralized RPG powered by the players’. According to them gamers can play, mine resources (and therefore make money), trade (and make money) and govern the game world together. As a result gamers will have some form of political power in game world.
The great war between the gods ripped the Nine Worlds apart, and even though the gods eventually put an end to their conflict, the scars of war had already started to cause Yggdrasil, the world tree to wither. Then one day, a stray cat in Midgard wishing to be reborn as a human, was called by the goddess and reincarnated as a half-cat, half-human being.
The World of Nine Chronicles has nine regions in total. For example, the cute little teratoma creatures live in Yggdrasil, but attack everything on sight. Other regions will offer unique enemies, boss, and resources.
