Spatial, an immersive 3D social platform, has launched its new Creator Toolkit powered by Unity's SDK. It allows users to build interactive virtual spaces regardless of their skills or expertise in creatives.
With Unity powering this toolkit, creators can publish AAA graphics across the web, mobile, and VR in seconds. The toolkit also offers interactive elements, animated textures, and real-time lighting to bring a whole new level of realism to created spaces.
With a library of ready-made assets, creations that may have taken days to perfect now only take seconds. The latest toolkit allows users to interact and play with the space around them, thus making digital experiences more fun and exciting.
Using Unity's SDK, Spatial claims to be "the first to bring this level of visual quality directly to a web browser, with fast load times and no download or installs required." The company hopes this toolkit will give rise to more innovation and game-level development down the road.
"Making immersive platforms easy and accessible for anyone to come in and start building, without prior knowledge in digital design, has always been an important factor in making Spatial the inclusive and open metaverse it is today," said Jinha Lee, CPO and Co-founder of Spatial. "This toolkit will open doors for creators to make out-of-this-world and exciting places to be in just a few clicks."
It's worth noting that the toolkit has attracted early adopters led by Spatial's existing partners. These include Exclusible Yacht by Polycount, Bubble Park by DaeWha Kang, and LuxxTopia by Luxx Studios.
Commenting on the toolkit's potential, Spatial CEO Anand Agarawala said: "Creating professional-grade lighting would previously have taken a trained designer at least two days to achieve, and now anyone can do it in a click of a button. It simultaneously publishes across web, mobile, and VR to make building so seamless that literally anyone can be a top-rate digital developer."
As of writing, the toolkit is already live in Beta. Interested individuals can learn more about it on Spatial's Notion page here.
