Valhalla is a playtoearn NFT strategy game on the metaverse powered by $FLOKI. At its core the concept is as the player discovers treasures in the game, it adds to their real-world wealth. Built on the metaverse-driven Viking world, players can own and sell assets living in the Floki world.

Valhalla Core Gameplay

Valhalla exposes players to a vast and open world of lush green forests, vast seas, and sky-high mountains. The turn-based gameplay begins with selecting a creature for battle, typically the starting Vera chosen during the tutorial. Players can also select three abilities to use in combat, along with potions and an amulet—essential for capturing Vera, though success is not guaranteed. There are currently seven types of Vera, each of which can be leveled up to become stronger.

Once geared up for battle, players engage in traditional turn-based gameplay, moving across the battlefield and strategically using abilities that consume mana. After a few turns, the battlefield begins to shrink, limiting movement and potentially altering the battle dynamics based on the player's Vera and the opponent's combat style. When an opponent's Vera's health is sufficiently low, players can attempt to capture it with the amulet. If the capture fails, the fight must continue to its conclusion.

In the Battle Hub, players prepare and build strategies to battle with other Vikings and wild Veras. This central area serves as the focal point for competitive gameplay, where strategic planning and skillful execution are key to victory.

Additionally, the Open World mode allows players to explore Floki Island, collecting resources and interacting with other players. This mode offers the thrill of chasing and capturing Veras, providing a more relaxed and exploratory experience compared to the structured battles.

As players explore the world, they discover hidden treasures and complete unique challenges to collect items and earn $FLOKI. Mimicking real-world dynamics, the weather and environment on Floki Island change, leading to unique adventures and ever-evolving gameplay experiences.

Veras are the magical creatures inhabiting the game. At the time of writing this overview, Valhalla has the following Veras;

  • Bjorn
  • Hushroom
  • Skaerrot
  • Madhattr
  • Bigghaer
  • Klautjasar
  • Igby
  • Flindorr

Players must train their Veras while using their unique capabilities and attributes to win combat and complete conquests.

What to expect?

Let's discuss the main features of the game:

Combat System: Players can utilize their Vera’s unique abilities and strategic approaches to win battles. For example, a Vera skilled in archery might use long-range attacks to pick off enemies from a distance, while a melee-focused Vera engages in close combat using powerful strikes. Employing clever tactics, such as setting traps or using the terrain to their advantage, players can outsmart opponents and earn rewards for showcasing their skills. Additionally, there is a player vs player mode where players can fight each other, providing an opportunity to test their combat prowess in direct confrontations.

Quests: In Valhalla, quests serve as a primary means of uncovering the lore, secrets, and history of the island. A typical quest might involve exploring ancient ruins, battling mythical creatures, or assisting villagers with various tasks. These quests present unique challenges and introduce intriguing characters. Completing them rewards players with in-game currency and rare items, such as enchanted weapons or powerful artifacts, which enhance their capabilities and overall experience.

Clans: From September 2023 onwards, players can build and join clans. Each clan faces weekly challenges, like defending a village from invaders or collecting rare resources. When players complete individual challenges, their clan earns Unity, a boost that can provide advantages such as increased resource gathering rates or enhanced combat abilities. This system fosters teamwork and strategic planning within the clan, encouraging players to collaborate towards common goals.

Farm: Valhalla allows players to establish and manage their own farms. They can cultivate crops like wheat, barley, and herbs, or raise livestock such as sheep, cattle, and chickens. These activities yield essential resources and crafting ingredients. For example, growing herbs to brew healing potions or raising cattle to produce leather for armor. Farming also opens up trading opportunities, allowing players to sell surplus goods for profit or trade for items they need, simulating a dynamic and realistic economic system.

Craft: With resources gathered from quests and farming, players can craft various weapons and armor. For instance, they might forge a battle axe from rare metals or craft a shield imbued with magical properties. By completing specific quests or challenges, players can discover new crafting recipes, enabling them to create even more powerful and unique items.

Raid: Raids in Valhalla are challenging adventures where players team up to face formidable bosses. These encounters require teamwork, coordination, and strategic planning. For example, a raid might involve breaching a heavily guarded fortress or battling a massive dragon. Players must work together to exploit the boss's weaknesses and devise tactics to overcome its powerful attacks. Successful raids offer rare and valuable loot, such as legendary weapons or exclusive cosmetic items, and emphasize the importance of collective effort and strategy.

NFT Integration and NFT Marketplace

Genesis NFTs in Valhalla are the key to access exclusive benefits in the Viking universe. Ownership of any of the four NFT types (Ruby, Diamond, Silver, and Bronze)  brings special discounts, early access, and better utility.

In addition to Genesis NFTs, each Vera, when owned, can be turned into an NFT sellable on the marketplace. However, to add them to the collection, players will need to win battles and acquire Veras.

Valhalla In-Game Economy

To begin playing, players need to have a certain amount of $FLOKI in their wallets.  $FLOKI tokens can be bought from other players or the marketplace. Moreover, the Genesis NFT collection can be used to power up the character. It’s also possible for players to mint their own NFTs right from the beginning of the game. As these NFTs grow they will become a tangible asset that grows in value over time.

In-game items can also be minted as NFTs, ranging from legendary weapons to rare consumables and other general decorative items. A player’s NFT collection holds potential value inside and outside the game. On the marketplace, players can list their NFTs for sale and bid on items they need.

Valhalla is a Viking-inspired P2E NFT based game running in the metaverse. Players, while exploring their native Floki island, have the freedom to explore other open worlds and vast forests. As they collect resources and in-game items and progress in the game, their assets continue to increase and bring better fortune in the real world.
