The Starknet Foundation has announced the introduction of the Gaming Committee in an effort to fully support the growth of the L2’s gaming ecosystem through various incentive programs that will be funded from a 50 million $STRK budget.

How the Committee Works

The Committee is said to consist of 6 gaming experts whose goal is to grow the network’s gaming ecosystem by analyzing, strategizing and recommending various programs, with its success set to be measured based on usage metrics such as daily active users. Specifically, the Starknet Foundation Board has appointed the following: Henri Lieutaud (Starknet Foundation), Oli Freuler (Starkware), Gabin Marignier (Focus Tree), Chris Lexmond (Unstoppable Games), Tarrence van As (Cartridge) and Loaf (Loot Realms).

Their mission roadmap is divided into 3 phases: Analysis, Strategy, and Execution. In the first phase, members are tasked with assessing the ecosystem’s readiness and needs, writing an ecosystem analysis report in the process, while the second phase is about creating a growth strategy as well as various incentive programs. Last but not least, the third phase sees members working with the Foundation in implementing approved proposals, with the proposals set to be funded from a 50 million $STRK pool, a huge budget that is currently valued at around $121 million at the time of writing.
