The Sandbox has partnered with Tower for a competition tagged Tower Defense Game Jam. In this Game Jam, creators are required to develop a tower defense game on the Sandbox Game Maker software.

Details of the Game Jam

The Jam begins on July 25th, and the deadline for submission is 3 pm on August 14th. The submission's voting process will be from August 15th to September 4th while the results will be announced on September 11th.

The prize consists of 15000 $SAND, plus special rewards from the TOWER franchise. Winners would receive the following:

  • 1st place: 6,000 SAND + 4x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
  • 2nd place: 3,500 SAND + 3x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
  • 3rd place: 2,000 SAND + 2x “The Crazos” PFP NFT
  • 4th to 10th place: each receive 500 SAND + 1x “The Crazos” PFP NFT

Suppose participants already had their wallets connected to the Crazy Defense Heroes User ID before the announcement. In that case, the top 10 get a Sandbox Game Jam winner's badge NFT and a 399 USD Crazy Defense Heroes in-game item package.

In addition, all eligible participants will get three Crazos mint passes and a 199 USD Crazy Defense Heroes in-game item package as a special reward.

Submission Guidelines

Apart from designing the submission on the Game Maker software, it must have some playability, be unique, and may include assets built by the participants. The game must follow the theme, use 25 or more assets, and length must be a minimum of 5 minutes.

Entries will be disqualified if the submission steps are incomplete, the gallery includes low-quality experiences, or any Sandbox staff members vote it out.

Submissions will be judged by the Sandbox and the Tower's staff. The total criteria are based on a 100-point scale divided into four categories - Overall Idea, Level/Game Design, Creativity, and Playability – each carrying 25 points. There is also a bonus point, a Wow factor, which carries 25 points.
