Stepn, the move-to-earn game, has just initiated a massive $30 million airdrop campaign. This campaign was launched with developer FSL distributing 100 million airdrop points to players. The weeklong event began last week and ended on Wednesday. In addition, the airdrop points are redeemable at a 1:1 ratio for Stepn's native GMT token minted on Solana.
Furthermore, the team conducted the airdrop in two phases. The first phase had its target on Stepn achievement badge holders. These are those who can accumulate FSL points through in-app achievements. However, the second phase focuses on rewarding holders of Genesis Sneakers NFTs. The team has also emphasized that players must claim their earned points by the end of April.
Stepn, a mobile fitness game, has played a role in incentivizing players to engage in physical activity by rewarding them for running or walking. This led to a high demand upon its launch in 2022. However, the value of NFTs and crypto rewards has decreased significantly since then.
FSL Expresses Gratitude for Community Support
Shiti Manghani, FSL CEO, has expressed gratitude to the community members. He stated, "We have decided to launch this huge airdrop campaign as a token of gratitude to our most loyal community members, providing them with priority access to our upcoming mints and other exclusive rewards." The company also hinted at an upcoming partnership with “one of the world’s best-known sports brands.” However, no timeline for the deal’s announcement was provided.
The CEO further emphasized saying: “Stepn currently finds itself at a very exciting juncture, with major plans in the pipeline this year to supercharge our growth and cement our leading position in the move-and-earn sector. The next few months mark a pivotal moment for Stepn, and we're thrilled to share this with our most dedicated supporters."
