Patriots Division, a gaming studio developing their upcoming free-to-play third-person action game Shadow War, has officially opened registrations for their 3rd public playtest, set to start on May 31st.

Playtest Details

Using the signup form linked in the official tweet, anyone can apply for the test session that is set to take place at the end of this month. The application form asks for your name, e-mail, Ethereum address, Twitter/X username and Discord username, after which it will ask for your favorite video game, your GPU model, NFT communities you were a part of, and the faction you’d like to side with. Ethereum addresses that have transaction history will be given priority to gaining access to the test phase.

Based on details revealed so far, it seems that players can look forward to a new lobby feature that will allow the creation of custom lobbies to make it easy to play with friends. There will also be overhauled audio and new combat systems to enjoy, alongside a new secret in the level to uncover.

About Shadow War

Shadow War is a free-to-play hero-based action game being made in Unreal Engine 5. Choose from a variety of different characters known as operatives to engage in third-person melee and ranged gameplay, with combat styles varying from one hero to the next. This means that character has their own weapons, skills and special abilities, and it’s their skillset that determines in which of the 5 roles do they belong to: Vanguard, Assault, Tactical, Predator or Specialist. Vanguard operatives are large tanks while Assault characters are balanced, all-round operatives who can deal high damage while having decent mobility. Tactical operatives serve as support for the team while Predators are agile assassins and Specialists are ranged operatives who either bring heavy gunfire or magic attacks to suppress the enemy team.

Earlier this month, Patriots Division successfully raised $5 million for Shadow War in a Series A funding round featuring Momentum 6, Cogitent Ventures, XBorg and more participants.
