Season 7 of roguelite x RTS card game hybrid Apeiron is now live, giving players a new chance to play and earn USDC while enjoying newly-added features and improvements that enhance the blockchain gaming experience.

What Is Apeiron?

Apeiron is a unique roguelite and god game hybrid in which you grow your own planets and control big avatars in PvE and PvP battles while creating your own 15-card deck of units called Apostles to summon in RTS combat. The game is currently in early access and in development by Foonie Magus, who have launched their free to play title on PC and mobile devices, including Windows and Mac via the Epic Games Store and Mavis Hub, alongside Android and iOS through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

What’s New in Apeiron Season 7?

The 7th season brings a lot of big changes to how leaderboards and rewards work in Apeiron while adding in a new Apostle class, improved in-game AI, a new feature called Chronomerging, and more.

Let’s talk about the rewards structure first. From this season, when you buy the VIP PvP Battle Pass, you will now actually have access to earning USDC and Divine Keys, with the latter also containing more USDC.

This change means that there are now 3 ways to earn USDC:

  • Rank in the top 200 on the VIP PvP Battle Pass Leaderboard,
  • Redeem Divine Keys as a VIP PvP Battle Pass holder using points earned from ecosystem activities, and
  • Spend APRS/ANIMA in various different to earn Divine Keys for a potential chance of dropping USDC

We’ll talk more about earning USDC in detail this season down below. As for those playing in the free tier PvP and PvE Leaderboards, APRS has been replaced by APRM, the non-tradable in-game currency, while everything else has stayed the same.

The new Apostle class in question is the Summoner. This class lets you summon a variety of mystical creatures such as a wild boar or an explosive baby spider, giving you both offensive and defensive options to work with. You can unlock the new class by fighting in PvE dungeons, after which you can mint them as an NFT to increase your chances of gaining Divine Keys. You can also buy the Summoner through the VIP Shop instead, with Level 1 allowing you to get a Normal Summoner Ticket, while Level 4 unlocks the Golden Summoner Ticket. To unlock VIP Level 1, the team has now lowered the staking requirement to 320 APRS tokens, while Level 4 requires staking less than 11k APRS.

The developers continue to work on improving in-game AI, and you can expect to see smarter bots throughout this season, where you now might sometimes be matched against stronger AI starting from Silver rank, T7, to lower waiting times if no real player opponent is found within 30 seconds.

Chronomerging is a new feature that lets you boost the stats of your existing primary Planet NFT by merging two of them. Pick the 2 Planet NFTs you’d like to Chronomege and choose the one that you’d like to enhance out of the two. Doing this will add the age of the sacrificed Planet NFT over to the one being upgraded while inheriting higher Exordium and lower Planet ID. You also have the option to spend 8000 ANIMA if you want to override the receiving Planet NFT’s skills and perks with the one being sacrificed. Once the process is complete, the sacrificed NFT is burned, so it will no longer exist nor be usable by anyone. You can find the new feature this season on the Aperion Marketplace. If you have multiple Planet NFTs that you don’t need, then this new mechanic allows you to put them to use while improving the main asset you prefer to use.

A number of other changes have also been made to VIP staking, VIP Shop item costs, Apostle minting costs, and breeding costs. You can now also buy Divine Keys from the VIP Shop for 300 APRS, with the quantity you can purchase varying based on your VIP staking level. How to Play and Earn in Apeiron Season 7

Season 7 is live from July 7 to August 18, and while Aperion is available as a downloadable free-to-play Ronin-powered title, you’ll want to buy the VIP PvP Battle Pass to unlock more play and earn opportunities, especially for this season, which has a 30k USDC prize pool that only battle pass holders can earn from through the VIP PvP Battle Pass Leaderboard. The VIP PvP Battle Pass can be found in the VIP Shop for the price of 1250 APRS tokens, which is around $7.45 at the time of writing.

To be eligible for rewards from the battle pass leaderboard, you will need to reach rank T6 and rank among the top 200 players. Climb the ranks by winning PvP matches in which you control a giant avatar while summoning varied cards of 3D Apostle units into action-packed 1v1 MOBA-style gameplay.

If you hold the battle pass and are at least rank T6 while ranking in the top 200 on the special leaderboard, you could win the following prizes depending on your placement (rewards per player):

  • 1st: $100 USDC + 20 Divine Keys
  • 2nd: $85 USDC + 18 Divine Keys
  • 3rd: $70 USDC + 16 Divine Keys
  • 4th: $60 USDC + 12 Divine Keys
  • 5th: $50 USDC + 10 Divine Keys
  • 6th – 10th: $45 USDC + 8 Divine Keys
  • 11th – 25th: $40 USDC + 5 Divine Keys
  • 26th – 50th: $30 USDC + 3 Divine Keys
  • 51st – 75th: $15 USDC + 2 Divine Keys
  • 76th – 100th: $8 USDC + 1 Divine Key
  • 101st – 150th: $6 USDC
  • 151st – 200th: $3 USDC

As you play, you also get to progress through the VIP Battle Pass and earn exclusive rewards by collecting points. You can earn points through a number of ecosystem activities that include increasing your PvP rank and VIP staking level. The higher rank and level you are, the more points you receive. Points are also awarded based on the total age of your top 3 Planet NFTs, and the average IV of your 6 highest Apostle NFTs.

For every 5 points you earn, you get a Divine Key, through which you can earn more USDC, with tallies said to be taken every second week. When it comes to Divine Key USDC drop rates, there is a 1% chance of receiving $10 – $100 USDC, a 5% chance of earning $5 - $50 USDC, and a 95% of earning $0.5 - $3 USDC. You can earn more Divine Keys by spending APRS/ANIMA on breeding Planets, Chronomerging, minting Apostles, buying items from the VIP Shop (including the battle pass), and by charging up APRS and ANIMA into APRM and ANIMUS.
