UPDATE (June 26): Boss Fighters decided they wanted more time to polish their latest game version, so they have pushed back the start on this event to July 5th!
Boss Fighters is a PvP arena combat game that sees a team of four, humanoid Fighter players compete against a Boss player, a disembodied brain piloting a giant mech suit!
The upcoming open beta test for Boss Fighters kicks off on June 27th at 3pm UTC and will run for seven days. Participants who play every day for all seven days of the open beta test can earn a special ‘Mystery Gift’.
The Boss Fighters team also plans to hold live streams on the first and last days of the event with giveaways to viewers. Head over to the Boss Fighters YouTube channel to subscribe and prepare for the livestream events.
You can download and install Boss Fighters through Steam.
What's New in Boss Fighters?
Now only does this open beta test bring an opportunity to earn a special prize, but it also comes with a new game update as well!
This update includes user interface improvements, an enhanced matchmaking system, increased physics effects, and a new item system that includes item rarities and item perks!
In addition, players will get a chance to battle in a new arena, the Toxic Cola Lab. This map comes with multiple elevations, more room to maneuver and hide, and the first environmental obstacles in the game, a toxic pool that damages players, and exploding barrels!
But perhaps the biggest feature of all in this update is the ability to play as a Boss without a VR headset! That's right, PC players will now be able to step into the arena as Boss and see what it's like to battle against a team of puny fighters!

How to Play and Earn with Boss Fighters
Boss Fighters doesn't yet feature a play and earn feature, though they do regularly giveaway NFTs through their social media channels.
And they have also been holding an airdrop campaign for their upcoming token launch based around social media engagement. Visit https://airdrop.bossfighters.game/ to join.
But, in the long term, Boss Fighters will give players the chance to earn tokens by playing the game. In order to earn, players must possess a Badge. Badges are limited use items created by Showrunner Contracts, an NFT item in the Boss Fighters ecosystem. Showrunner Contracts can create new Badges, recharge depleted Badges, and also merge Badges into higher rarities.
Boss Fighters recently held a couple of sales for Mystery Boxes, which hold Showrunner Contracts. The contents of the boxes haven't been revealed yet, but a few Showrunner contracts have made it out into the wild through events and giveaways. You can pick them up on Open Loot starting at $80, though they don't have any utility yet.
